Excessive tire wear, driver side rear tire inside wears abnormally. suspect rear wheel spindle rod, which was recalled for police model but not civilian model for rear wheel misalignment. danger of wear not being noticed since it is excessive on the inside of tire which could result in a tire blow out and crash.

As i was driving the engine light came on and the display read reduced engine power. the car slowed down and resisted as i accelerated. i can only drive about 20 miles per hour. there is no warning and there is a decrease in acceleration. there was no warning and i have my child in the car. this is very dangerous.

I bought my car used with 40,000 mile on it. the tires were perfect when i bought it. 9,000 miles later, my front tires kept going flat. i looked at them and the entire inside of the tires were worn through. i took it to the local tire shop and they told me the tires wore like that due to a bad alignment. my steering seemed fine. the manager of the shop came out to tell me that many of his customers with impalas have similar issues. a extra long factory installed camber bolt causes the vehicles to become un aligned, and causes excessive wear on the tires.

I have not had an incidence but very concerned about the malfunction that is going on with my vehicle at this time..i noticed a scrubbing/grumbling noise when i would turn the wheel either way left or right. after vehicle being put on machine for testing it was discovered that the upper strut mounts and bearing were worn and nosiey on front struts......also my abs and traction control light both came on at the same time and would not go off, the information system in vehicle recommended brakes be service.....the results from car being tested showed both front hubs have slack and both front wheel speed sensor harness are coming apart inside wire installation. the codes for abs/traction control is...c0040 00.c0040

I will not drive this car down any steep grade. going down cuesta grade and applying brakes, the steering wheel shakes uncontrolably. we had the car checked out at a dealer and they said it was probably the rotors. we then had them turned front and back and got a front end alignment. that did not change anything. we then had a four wheel alignment done and replaced the brakes. no difference. that is when we were told we needed to replace our tires. the rear were wearing out at very fast. they lasted under 20k miles. we are now on our third set. it's too bad gm will not recall 2007/2008 impalas. only the police version.this is not right. our rear spindles and front upper/lower control arms should be replaced at no cost to us. if not who would bother buying this car when we sell it?

I owe a chevy impala 2007 and i was having trouble with the car muffler, it was making a noise. on taking it to the service shop, i was told that it needed to be changed and the probable reason is the salt has caused the damage. the car has run 69 k miles. i ended up changing the muffler.

Tl - the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet impala . the contact stated that when she tried to switch the air conditioner from the air coming in from outside to having the air in the vehicle circulate it makes a very loud sound. the vehicle was taken to a local shop who diagnosed that the fresh air door actuator was faulty and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was contacted who did not offered any assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 31,000. pm

I purchased a used 2007 chevrolet impala 3.5l ls with approximately 25k miles in october 2009. between oil changes my car has been burning out oil 2-3 quarts between oil changes). i have taken it back to the dealership 3 times to have this issues corrected. they thought it was a clogged sensor and changed it because they could not find any leaks. they changed the sensor but the vehicle is still burning between 2 - 3 quarts. i have my oil changed every 3k miles. the oil light does come on to alert me when i am low. i am afraid that the engine is going to seize up. i want to bring it back to the dealer again but the last 3 time i have taken it there they have been unsuccessful in finding the problem. i have been a gm customer with this dealership for approximately 17 yrs and have never had a problem with any of my other gm products and the dealership has always been very helpful.

I have a 2007 chevy impala lt i bought it used with 30,000 miles on it. in between oil changes the oil warning comes on telling me to add more oil. ive taken it to the dealership and to other mechanics and cannot figure out what is wrong. they have checked for leaks and there are none. they said maybe the engine is burning it off but they dont smell it. nobody can tell me what is wrong, so in between oil changes i have to put 1-2 quarts of oil in it. i change my oil every 6,000 miles.

I have a 07 chevy impala ss. i replaced the tires sept 28, 2009, had them rotated at a gm dealer in jan 10 when i got an oil change. my husband was doing some brake work 2 weeks ago and noticed my tires were completely bald on the inside edges. after researching the issue, my car has a manufacturers defect (tsb # 08032) and gm engineers created a camber fix kit for the issue but gm will only pay for repairs if the car is coded as a police vehicle. i was on hold for over an hour in an hour an a half conversation with chevy customer service this week. they told me they would document it but basically sorry for your luck. i asked for a manager and after a 3 minute conversation she hung up on me saying she would note my case as dissatisfied but there was nothing else they would do. she said all i could do was contact nhtsa and place a complaint. i don't believe gm is standing behind their product as their new tv ad eludes when they know there is a problem, fix it for their fleet customers, but refuse to help the average citizen. from reviewing the complaint site many others have had the same issue with their impala. gm won't help the average citizen fix this manufacturers defect unless a recall is issued; these were the words of the customer care rep i spoke with. please review all the complaints on this issue, request gm provide their company stats on the fleet vehicles they've fixed, and issue a recall for this issue. this should have been covered as my car is under full warranty at this time but they look at this issue as an alignment issue not a rear suspension issue (which is what it is) to get themselves out of paying for their mistakes.
