The original equipment tires on my father's car, goodyear eagles, wore so badly on the inside that the tread split near the sidewalls & was coming off. i, a 69 year old woman, was about to leave on a trip during a downpour. fortunately, the national tire store that i use discovered the problem when doing a free pressure check or i could have had a serious problem while on the road. i know that the store didn't take advantage of me because i actually looked at the tires myself. the last tire rotation was performed by the dealer at 26,593 miles & i was not advised of uneven wear at that time. *tr

I have had numerous issues with unusual wear and/or blowouts on the tires of my 2008 chevy impala. i first started having issue with tires in dec 2008 and still continue til this day. when i questioned if there was a possiblility it was the vehicle and not the tires, i i was told by the dealership in 2010, it was faulty 'factory installed' tires. i have replaced more than one all the tires on my vehicle. now i find out that gm has recalled police issue 2008 impalas but not those for the everyday consumer.

I own a 2008 chevy impala ss, i bought the car in october 2008. since buying the car, i have had to buy 3 sets of back tires due to excessive wearing on the tires. i have had my tires re-aligned everytime i have had to put new tires on the back, yet they continue to wear out extremely fast. the first set of tires i had to put on the car was in march 2009, then again in may 2010 (of which i needed new back tires prior to then but could not afford to buy them until that time), then i had to replace them again december 2010. i am now on my 3rd set of back tires, and am needing to replace them yet again. i have just recently learned that there is a law suit currently filed against gm, stating that there is a defect in the rear alignment spendle causing excessive wearing on the rear tires. per the news reporst on the law suit, it is requested to become a class action law suit as gm issued a letter for the police impala's to be repaired and for the owners to be reimbursed for any tires bought, however they neglected to inform the public who own 2007 & 2008 impala's with the same problems.

Vehicle won't hold allignment and when it does it's still wearing out the rear tires at a rate 1/32 per 1000 miles, it wore out the rear tires in 6000 miles just lucky that i looked at them when i did. the vehicle has 45000 miles on it and this is the second set of tires in 6000 miles

Severe tire wear. 2008 chevy impala with goodyear integrity tires. had to have all four tires replaced at 33,000 miles, mind you these are 50,000 miles tires that have been rotated and kept at the recommended psi. they are severely worn on the inner and outer edges and can see the wear bars. was told by the dealership that the tires to begin with are junk! i had no choice but to replace them being that this car is a lease and only have 4 months left with it till the turn in date. the unnamed tire store told me that i need an alignment but the dealership that my car goes to never said anything about needing the alignment.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet impala. the contact noticed premature tire wear. the front tires were replaced by the dealership at 5,000 miles. the front tires were replaced again at 18,000 miles. the recommended tire pressure was 30 but the dealer recommended 35 which the contact felt was a safety concern because the dealer was giving a different recommendation than the manufacturer. the contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. the current mileage was approximately 19,000. the failure mileage was approximately 5,000-bk

Severe inner tire wear on both rear tires at around 47k miles. the wire inside the tires was showing and it was unnoticeable just looking at the car. i didn't realize the tires were bad until the rear driver tire went completely flat without warning.

I have a 2008 chevrolet impala that has 40,000 miles on the vehicle. i will now be putting a 3rd set of tires on the car as well as getting the front end aligned once again. the car wears the tires on the front inner and outer sides. the middle of the tire looks new. the car handles horribly in wet conditions as well.

2008 impala ltz that i purchased from bill cramer motors in donalsonville, georgia on 10/29/2009. on 2/6/2010 i had a tire blow out in bainbridge, georgia nearly causing a crash. after changing my tire, and returning home i discovered that both rear tires were worn down to the belt on the inside. after doing some research on this issue, i discovered that this is a very common issue in the late model impala

Started having issues with my 2008 chevy impala with what i thought was a tire balance problem. did required tire rotation as recommended at 6000, 10,000 and then again at 13,500. dealer said tires may be out of round and suggested road force balancing at 16,500 miles. this did not change the issue, so went to goodyear dealer and found out that the inside 2 inches of all four tires were wearing excessively with the rear two less that 2/32 inches of tread left. goodyear shot the alignment and showed that the alignment was way off and tires could not be warranted with an alignment issue. took back to chevy dealer to inform them of the alignment issue. they said alignment was not warranted after 7,500 miles and also would not replace the 4 tires. i did get the dealer to gratuitously do a 4 wheel alignment that also showed the camber and toe, especially in the rear was out of tolerance and exceeded cross-tolerance on their machine as well. the camber could not be adjusted without extra work (elongating the bolt holes or a chamber alignment kit). contacted gm complaint line for resolution to no avail, saying i had to prove that there is a defect on the vehicle. this is an inherent safety problem with 2007 and 2008 impalas that has fostered numerous complaint to you including 5 already this year. gm issued a tsb #08032 for police impalas that are on the same platform and suspension, but never extended that to the public. seems to me that the rear suspension has an severe defect that can cause tire blowout without warning. no tires should wear like that with less than 17,000 miles without a rear suspension and alignment problem that needs to be recalled for repair and replacement of the parts and tires. i saw at least 12 complaints in the first 24 pages of 2007 impala complaints to the odi. please investigate this problem before someone is seriously injured or killed as a result of this continuing impala issue. *tr

Extreme inside rear tire wear in a very short time. *tr
09/07/20091
Rear tires had extreme excessive wear on inside in short amount of time. these were new tires. no warnings. tire was worn in such a short amount of time if i had not been looking at something in driveway it was on the verge of a blowout. these were new tires so you do not think the inside where you can not see would be down to the wires on the inside of tire. was going on long trip in 2 days something just made me look down and i saw it. i could not believe it. i took pictures. *tr
TIRES - PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
06/16/201048562
Tire pressure monitoring system provides readings for incorrect tire. tpms reported pressure for driver side rear when actual reading was for passenger front. incorrect reading could cause driver to check the wrong tire, conclude that tire was drivable, then have tire failure on the different tire.
04/07/201040000
Inside rear tires on '08 impala ss are worn down to the threads. extreme safely issue since this is not something you would usually notice unless it's up on a lift. does someone really need to get in a crash and get killed or kill someone before this is a recall?

Tl*the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet impala. the contact noticed that the tire pressure monitoring indicator constantly illuminated on the instrument control panel. she took her vehicle to a dealer, but they could not identify the failure and provide a remedy. the failure mileage was 26,000 and current mileage was 29,437.
