Defect SummaryGeneral motors (gm) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 chevrolet impala police vehicles because the front lower control arms may fracture. this safety recall does not include non-police chevrolet impala vehicles.
Consequence SummaryA broken control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective SummaryGm will notify owners, and dealers will replace both front lower control arms, free of charge. the safety recall is expected to begin on august 21, 2012. owners may contact the chevrolet owner center at 1-866-694-6546.

 Tl. the contact owns a 2011 chevrolet aveo (n/a). the contact stated while driving 75 mph the vehicle starts to pull to the right. this could cause a crash while driving on the highway. the contact has taken the vehicle to the dealer twice for a wheel alignment and steering alignment but the of the repairs have remedied the steering issue. the contact stated the vehicle is becoming unsafe to drive. the failure mileage was 607. jo
