Defect SummaryCertain honeywell fram racing brand hp4 and hp8 oil filters that were manufactured from may 25, 2006, through september 14, 2007, and sold for use as replacement equipment for vehicles list above. the affected filters are marked with a date code a61451 through a72571 sequentially. the date code and part number appear on the filter housing. fram racing hp4 and hp8 oil filters not bearing a date code in this range are not affected by this recall. the gasket of the oil filter becomes more pliable under high temperatures and pressures.
Consequence SummaryThis condition may cause inadequate sealing and loss of engine oil, possibly resulting in a fire.
Corrective SummaryHoneywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. the recall began during november 2007. owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075.

 Tl the contact owns a 1998 chevrolet k1500 equipped with an aftermarket mac miller (na) side window deflector (rainguard), part 80019. the contact stated that the deflector did not glue onto the vehicle. the deflector was wedged into the window molding. the contact stated that a total of four deflectors fell off of the vehicle; the latest occurred while he was driving 50 mph on the highway and almost caused an accident. the contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. the the current mileage was approximately 110,000. the failure mileage was approximately 100,000-bk
