I was installing our infant car seat and found that neither of the seatbelts in the back seats that have shoulder harnesses lock when you pull the belts out all the way. we purchased the car used last december. there was only one owner previous to our purchase. we did not realize there was a problem with the seatbelts until now because we had not installed a carseat until the birth of our daughter this summer. i cannot properly secure our child's carseat when the shoulder belts do not lock. i cannot get the shoulder belt to lock, so i cannot install the carseat. i took the car to a local garage and was told there had been a recall on some of the models for this exact problem, but i don't see there's one for our make, model and year. i am contacting the local dealership monday morning to get the belts repaired/replaced. *tr

Drivers side front seat belt will not retract properly. nlm

Front passenger seat belts do not retract to stowwed position after use, and often do not retract after leaning forward. seatbelt repeatedly gets wedged between door and b-pillar when closing door when exiting vehicle which causes damage to seatbelt hardware. when seatbelt occasionally fails to retract after leaning forward, it creates slack in restraint system that presents a safety hazard to the front seat driver/passenger. i have contacted the service department at the purchasing dealer and they do not show any service bulletin for this problem. *ak

When getting into the vehicle and trying to use the shoulder seat belts, they are retracting slowly on the driver's side. on passenger's side there was a hole in the door panel due to the seat belt hanging out of vehicle when consumer was getting out. dealer can't determine the problem. *ak

There have been issues with this car involving the front driver's side brakes (calipers sticking), the rear brake lights (rusted circuit board and burned out bulbs), rear seat belt (part that locked belt to make it safe for child seat was plastic and broke) and now also the intake & intake gaskets on the cooling system. i'm getting really fed up with having the car in the shop all the time. now, at 57,000 miles, the intake gaskets need to be replaced at a cost of $600, when they were already replaced at 16,000 miles when the intake was replaced. we thought we were done paying for this car, but i guess not. *jb
