| Both passenger side doors locks only stopped working electrically and only work manually, i began to notice this about two weeks ago, they were only working about half the time. i took it to the dealer and they told me the car is out of warranty, and even its a common problem they want me to pay roughly $500.00 dollars for the repair. i think this is a safety concern because in the event of a traffic collision i will not be able to get my kids out of the vehicle quickly since you cannot unlock the rear doors through the outside of the vehicle manually with a key. i contacted gm customer service and addressed my concern to no avail. i don't think it is right for a 3 year old car to be having such problems, i also own a 1996 honda civic whose doors still work properly?? thank you.. there are a lot of unsatisfied customers on this forum....http://www.chevymalibuforum.com/foru...ead.php?t=7950. *tr | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that the brake lights remained illuminated whenever the vehicle was driven and stopped illuminating when the brakes were applied. the contact also stated that after having the brakes, rotors, and calibers replaced at the dealer, the failure occurred. the vehicle was repaired because the dealer stated that moisture was penetrating the brake system. the contact spoke with the dealer and was informed that the failure was not covered under the extended warranty. the vehicle had not been inspected. the failure and current mileages were 41,000. sm. | |||

| The power locks on the car would not unlock the doors, leaving the passengers trapped inside. we were unable to open the doors manually, electrically or even with inserting the key into the door. passengers had to crawl out of the windows. after trying the key and remote numerous times the driver side door unlocked but would not relatch when the door was closed or even after starting the engine and placing the transmission in gear. the locks sound like they engage and disengage leaving one to think every thing is okay but, it is not. this a serious safety hazard and one that could be life threatening. | |||

| Since the 1st of march the headlights have been burning out. i have been replacing the headlights with regular oem replacements. i have noticed that the plugs are melting on the headlights. this is a great safety concern in my opinion. i can understand normal life of the bulb, but to have 4 sets of lights go out in just over a month is an issue. i think this may be happening due to no ventilation behind the headlight causing excessive heat therefore causing a possible fire hazard and possible accident during night driving. please consider looking into this as a possible recall. | |||

| Driving down the road the dash light will just go off and on, the power door locks stop working the power windows stop working the radio will just turn on when it wants to and the volume control will not work so when it turns on its at the peak volume. this is extremely dangerest.chevrolet will not do anything about it. its past its warrinty. | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle would down shift while accelerating. as a result, the vehicle would suddenly decelerate. in order to shift the vehicle back into its proper gear, the contact had to shift the vehicle into manual mode and use the optional pedal shifts. the contact also stated that the brake lights would illuminate when the brake pedal was not being depressed and the traction control and electronic stability control lights intermittently illuminated on the instrument panel. an authorized dealer was notified and the contact was informed that the body control module may need to be replaced. the vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed. the failure mileage was 59,000. sm. | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet malibu. the contact stated while driving 45 mph the vehicle will down shift while accelerating. this causes the vehicle to suddenly reduce speed. to get the vehicle to shift into the next gear the contact had to switch to the manual mode and use the optional paddle shifts. the contact stated the vehicle only shift properly in manual mode but not with the normal automatic. the contact also stated the brake light illuminate while the brake pedal is depressed. the contact stated driving with the brake light illuminated can cause a crash. also the traction control and esc (electronic stability control) light comes. the contact called the dealer regarding the issue with the vehicle and the dealer stated the body control module may need to be replaced. the contact has not taken the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. the failure mileage was 59,000. jo | |||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2009 chevrolet malibu. while driving at 60 mph the vehicle will jerk forward when the vehicle will accelerate. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where they reloaded software for the transmission. when the vehicle was driven off the lot from the repair the vehicle will not shift into different gears and when shifting down it will once again accelerate where the contact has to apply pressure to stop the vehicle. the vehicle was taken again to the dealer and they reload the updated software. the vehicle is now at the dealer to have the transmission rebuilt due to the failure of the software updates. the contact stated that there are problems with the power windows, fuel gauge which stopped working and the air conditioning that had a malfunction. the dealer will also repair all the failures that the vehicle is experiencing.the failure mileage was 12000 and the current mileage was 25000.cv . | |||
