NotesGeneral motor campaign no 76c17.possibility that optional polycast wheels mayhave mold release agent (wax) on the conical wheel lug nut seats.this waxacts as a lubricant and significantly reduces the friction as wheel lug nutsare being tightened.consequently, a high clamping force is applied to thewheel when the lug nuts are torqued and the wheel mounting surfaces maycollapse.cracking, resulting in looseness or loss of wheel may eventuallyoccur.(correct by inspecting and replacing wheel lug nuts, valve stems andbalance wheels).passenger vehicle.
