Defect SummaryCertain honeywell fram racing brand hp4 and hp8 oil filters that were manufactured from may 25, 2006, through september 14, 2007, and sold for use as replacement equipment for vehicles list above. the affected filters are marked with a date code a61451 through a72571 sequentially. the date code and part number appear on the filter housing. fram racing hp4 and hp8 oil filters not bearing a date code in this range are not affected by this recall. the gasket of the oil filter becomes more pliable under high temperatures and pressures.
Consequence SummaryThis condition may cause inadequate sealing and loss of engine oil, possibly resulting in a fire.
Corrective SummaryHoneywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. the recall began during november 2007. owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075.

Defect SummaryCertain replacement fuel filters, fram brand name p/n g3727, with date codes x52911 through x60801 sequentially or x600141 and a mexico country or origin marking on the fuel filter housing manufactured from october 18, 2005, through march 21, 2006, sold for use on the vehicles listed above and on certain school buses. (to see the school bus engine sizes, click on document search and then bus applications). the connector on the fuel filter was not manufactured to honeywell's specification. as a result, the o-ring may not seat correctly on the fuel line.
Consequence SummaryThis condition may cause an inadequate seal at the connection, potentially leading to a fuel leak. in the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur.

 When driving 60 mph, engine will shut down completely loosing all power, control and steering with no warning. five different dealers have looked at the motorhome, working several fuel components/tank and crankshaft position sensor replaced. *jball failures occurred at temperatures above 90 degrees except the last. the engine has always restarted, but can take as long as four hours to do so. also the gas tank reads full all the time, and the fule filter was replaced. *jg

PARKING BRAKE

 The auto park brake on my 1998 chevrolet p30 (winnebago motorhome) failed while in a mountainous region. i viewed the web and found numerous incidences since 1995. i understand that this problem has been reported to you prior. please help resolve this matter. although no fire there was a lot of smoke. thanks. *jb

 Emergency brake would go off & on while driving. it happens every 2-3 minuets. the light comes on & then would go off. it also can happen while idling. speed is not a factor. taking vehicle to dealer. *ak

 Auto park/emergency brake, system on gm p-30 chassis pressure switch goes out applying the emergency brake either, while moving or parked. at moving speeds it immediately stops you in seconds potentially allowing someone to crash into you from behind because of the sudden stop.many owners have had this problem, they are on the internet asking for help and don't know where to go.this is serious!!!

 The hydraulic auto park brake system failed. vehicle had to be repaired twice. on second repair swiches, relays and the pump were replaced. however, problem still exist, the pump runs excessively and the light stays on intermittently. *tt *nlm

 Ltr fm paul hoffman (oh) re the defective auto park/emergency brake system on the 1998 gm chevrolet p-30. *mr the emergency light had come on. the pressure switch on the hydraulic system had partially failed. (part was replaced and seemed fine) while driving the consumer smelled something burning, he stopped and checked the vehicle but didn't notice anything. the consumer attempted to start the vehicle but it would not move. the dealer checked the hydraulic reservoir to the auto park emergency brake system and found it was nearly empty due to the switch leaking. (the consumer thought he could get home but the problem repeated) the switch was replaced again and there was no auto park emergency light. *scc *jb the examination of the complaint vehicle disclosed that the problems were soley related to improper adjustment of the systems or worn parking brake shoes. a defect safety trend was not identified. general motors corporation agreed to send a safety advisory letter to all owners of these vehicles. *cb

 Power steering gear box comes loose while driving. dealer has inspected and tightened the gear box twice. *ak the gear box loosened causing front wheels out of alignment and front tires to wear. *yh
