Low tire after shopping, aired up 50 psi to drive home. as airing up the tire started to seperate/split down the center of tire around its' diameter. quickly released air and changed tire. tire wear was at the wear tread, should have been replaced sooner. these were on the vehicle at time of purchase with approximately 68,000 miles on vehicle.  The firestone tires were installed on our pickup at around 15,000 miles on the pickup itself, at 28,246 miles we went to have the tires rotated and rebalanced and the right front tire that came of would not balance. they took it apart and discovered the inner liner of the tire was completely coming apart and turning into powder. firestone said it had been ran at low presure and that was the cause of the inner liner coming apart, and that it was not adjustable . the tires were never ran low and were checked along with the vehicle when it was serviced every 2,000 miles. i still have the tire and the rest from the same matched set, i removed them all at the same time as the problem was discovered! the tire can be mounted and inflated and will not loose pressure, with out any distortion, or any signs of a potental problem. if it wasn't for the pile of rubber from the inner liner inside the tire that kept shifting around throwing the tire balance mathine off it would have never caught. or until the air inside escaped into the cord body causeing the caseing to seperate.it is clearly a manufacturing defect and because the rest of that set was from the same production run, we do not believe firestones explanation and did not feel safe with the rest of that set. thank you for listening, and thinking of our safety. rick s. & amy s. cole. *ak( dot number: vdw8axc134 tire size: 265/75/r16 )
TIRES - SIDEWALL
05/15/2001306/01/1995
I purchased the tires in february of 2001, about two weeks after i bought them, i went over a small curb in the snow. both front tires blew out at the sidewalls. i e-mailed goodyear and told them of my problem.they responded by replacing tires and charging me for the labor. may 15, 2001, i was driving down the highway at about 55-60 mph. when my front right tire blew out at the inside sidewall forcing the truck to pull hard to the right and off the road. my right shoulder was injured due to this incident. i feel that these tires have a potentially deadly defect and i would like some kind of investigation. thank you for your time. richard jeffords. *ak (tiresize: 225 75 r16)( dot number: tire size: 225 75 r16 )

The vehicle will at any but it has happend 7 times prior to 06/24/01 it occured four times that day. when getting up to highway speed , something takes over the accelerator and the only way it can be stopped is turn the key and put truck in neutral. with the key off you lose braking. i have had it in for repair four times in the last two months. i have called chev customer service no one can help me. this truck has been doing this since new harrell chev went out of business i did have it on record i think. i carried it to the buick/chev dealer no help. this problem cannot be duplicated they tell me. it cant be in the garage it happens on the highway. the tach will go to 4 and 5 and do this until what ever causes the the accelerator releasesthis is dangerous situation and i need it repaired all that they have done is squirt oil one the acc line this the extent of repair done. *ak

This vehicle has a intermittent problem with the engine throttle, the engine suddenly races while driving down the road or starting out. it is very dangerous to drive since you never know when it will take off on you. i have already spent enough money on this truck including a $1000.00 clutch repair which surprisingly surfaced after the warrenty period (43k). i can't afford to fix any more of chevies problems so i am hoping you could help me by doing what-ever you can in resolving this issue. i continue to drive the vehicle but beleive it has a serious safety issue concerning the sudden engine throttle racing. i have to push the clutch and then release to stop the racing. thank you for time in this matter. *ak

Winshield wipers faulty. they will work and than stop working and than work again. i was adviced from gm that the years 1994-1997 have been recalled but not the 1993 year. i talked to a manager named jack cunningham at 866 942 4368 x 48470, on 082903 and he adviced me that under the special policy if my vehicle was having the same problems as the recall gm would honor the recall to have this vehicle fixed. the gm dealer ed bozarth, needed to talk to jack to make sure the repairs would be fixed, but as of today jack has not returned a call to them or myself. i called the gm customer service 800 line and they adviced me that this vehicle is not covered under the recall. i adviced them that i talked to jack and they said they would transfer me back to his audix. this is a safety issue and the 1993 needs to be recalled along with the 1994-1997 recall now in place. thank you. *ak
