Windshield wipers are intermittent, it was taken to the dealership and verified, however, this vin was not included in the recall for the 95 chevrolet blazer 2. antilock brakes were also inspected and found to be defective by dealership, but again the vin for this vehicle was not included in the recall for the anti-lock brakes for 95 chevrolet blazers. 3. passenger side rear view mirror has cracked and broke off two times. the cracks are originating on the underside of the mirror support. after speaking with the dealership, they indicated to have the same problem with their parts vehicle which is also a 95 chevrolet blazer, and i have talked with two other people who own blazers who had the same defect. i have also tried to locate a used mirror in junk yards, in altus ok, lubbock, tx, and valdosta ga. none of the junk yards had any, they had the vehicles but the mirrors had already been bought. they second mirror i installed broke off and was dangling by the wires while driving down the interstate at 70mph nearly causing an accident, and not to mention it made it difficult to see drivers on the passenger side of the vehicle while changing lanes.

The brakes are very spongy when applied at all times. there is an extended stopping distance which several extra car lengths has to be allowed for in order to stop without a collision. the two near misses i had was i had to leave the road and go to the shoulder in order to keep from having an accident. i also have a 1998 chevrolet astro van and the brakes on it is 100% better. i am real happy with its stopping distance.

I have had a problem with the abs since i got the vehicle, however, i was unfamiliar with abs and thought the problem was normal. when i brake, if i hit a bump, the brakes lock up, and i continue to slide. this has happened on many occasions, on dry and wet pavements and on snow and ice. i came very close (10-15 feet) to sliding into a busy intersection once when this brake problem occurred. i received a recall letter from the manufacturer and when i attempted to have the problem fixed, was told that my particular vehicle was not covered under the recall because it was manufactured at a different plant. i have wasted a lunch hour and a lot of time on the phone trying to get satisfaction from gmc, to no avail, besides putting my life and other's lives on the line whenever i drive. as for the driver's seat problem, this developed about 2 years ago. the lever on the side of the seat which lays the back down and brings it up came off, stripped (it was plastic). now i have no way to adjust my seatback, and every once in a while, it slips back on it's own and i cannot control it. i am sure that one of these days i'll be driving along and my seatback will just fall down. the glove box door broke off the dash. if i have an accident, it will become a missile inside the cab. both the seat and the glove box door are not covered under my warranty from the manufacturer which is known as a universal warranty, and which i paid an additional $1300 to obtain, just for problems such as these. *ak

I have taken the truck to the dealer on three occasions, on two of the occassions, the dealership said they could find nothing wrong with the brakes, on the third visit they said they recreated to condition but that it was normal for antilock brakes and they failed to list this on the ticket. i have also contacted general motors about the incidents in question and they said if the dealership could not recreate it then they would not fix it. during all of this i have seen on t.v. (dateline) and read of others having the same troble with their brakes. the brakes usually fail at under 35mph under normal driving conditions. this is a very dangerous defect and all manufacturers should be held accountable.

A/c system failure due to pin-hole in evaporator ,system replaced and recharged then a/c compressor piston failed and was replaced, along with condensor .a/c compressor failed again for the second time when system failed to circulate refidgerant .front caliper seized and caused the vehicle to spin when engaged in rapid stopping, the caliper was severely worn ,while only having 25,000 miles at the time, the remaining calipers were showing minimal wear at that time.probems in the transmission from whining in gear, to rough shifting ,to whining while in neutral, began with less than 15,000 miles on the vehicle. problems remained even though the dealer mechanics stated no problem was fuond.troubles remained after multiple transmission services were performed at full cost to me. no satisfaction was received . the transmission continued to shift rough ,whine in and out of gear until the clutch had to be replaced showing a worn throw-out bearing as the cause of the whining
During hard braking (non-panic) at approx. 60mph, experienced pulling to extreme right due to left front caliper sticking. dealer lubircated caliper slide points to correct problem. also, on wet pavement experienced caliper sticking at approximately 35mph, duringnormal stopping, abs kicked in, took longer to stop, abs light appeared, brake action seemed inadequate to effectively stop in straight line in a timely manner. *ak

Outer front disc pad wore completely out without the wear indicator on the front pads engaging. resulting in dangerous braking and a very expensive repair. dealer said that the calipers must have stuck resulting in the damage. if that is the case then every s10 pickup needs to be recalled. this happened on both the left and right sides at the same time. since the wear indicators on the inner pads did not engage, it lead to an unexpected and dangerous situation with no warning.*ak

Failure #1-rear brakes would lock when stopping. this would activate the rear antilock brake system and result in extra long stopping. failure #2-the air vacuum hose that controls the position of the vents (ie heater or vent or defrost) melted and control of the defrost was lost. windshield frosted over and reduced vision through windshield resulting in dangerous condition. dt

The rear brake system on this vehicle appears to have never functioned properly. i have replaced front brakes, but noticed that the rear brakes did not appear to be functioning (especially noticed while in reverse). upon inspection, the rear shoes showed little or no wear. i did replace the shoes in the hope that this would correct the problem, but it has not. i suspect that the rear brakes have never been functional. the problem came to my attention when undergoing an omissions test with the rear wheels on rollers - the brakes failed to stop the wheels from turning. i did not detect this problem immediately due to the infrequency of braking under the condition of driving in reverse, although this has never been very good on this vehicle. *ak
