| Defect Summary | Vehicle description: passenger vehicles, light duty trucks, sport utility vehicles, and mini vans equipped with trw seat belt buckle assemblies. the buckle base of these seat belt assemblies were not properly heat treated and therefore do not pass the load bearing requirement of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 209, seat belt assemblies. | |||||||||||||||

| Upon applying brakes on ruff or wet roads, the brake pedal jumps and then goes all the way to the floor. brakes fail. dealer suggests that i drive only on smooth roads that are dry. they admitted that this is a common problem and that the manufacturer hasn't come up with a solution. told that it meets standards. i feel this truck is dangerous and i do not want to drive it and risk my life or anyone i might hit. my brother has already been thrown into the dash, while wearing his seat belt. dealer said belt does not hold when brakes fail.*ak | |||
