 Cruise control was set to 55 mph when vehicle started accelerating at a rapid speed.*mr the consumer turn the cruise control off and applied the brake but that did not stop the vehicle from accelerating. the consumer had to turn the ignition off and coast to the shoulder. *nm

 I was parking my truck in my apt parking structure after work on 9/14/02, upon finding a parking space i made a 3 point turn to get into the parking space. i reversed then stopped and placed the truck in drive as i was about to pull forward into the parking space. at that point i barely touch the gas expecting to coast into the space and then suddely the motor just started revving up. i didn't think twice and just jumped on the brake with both feet but the truck wouldn't stop. we ended up jumping the cement parking stopper on the ground, which lifted the front end into the air about 2-3 feet, and sent us smashing into the block wall directly infront of us. i now have $2,200 worth of front end damage, and am really worried about driving that truck again.*ak

 The vehicle has been experiencing a throttle response problem, while driving the engine rpm's do not drop off fast enough on up shifts causing the engine to race. scc

 While traveling on highway throttle becomes stuck without prior warning. dealership is aware of problem.*akwhile slowing down to exit the freeway, vehicle suddenly accelerated to a speed well over 50 mph. even with consumers foot off the gas vehicle still accelerated. consumer had to shut the vehicle off to stop. took vehicle to mechanic and was informed the throttle plate bolts had come out of the throttle plate causing the throttle to lock in an open position. *jg

 While driving, vehicle surges/accelerates, during city driving/slower speeds, rpms stick between 3300 & 3500 rpms, releasing gas pedal, braking, taking out of gear has no effect, have to turn car off or wait, has almost caused crashes, have had to dealer twice, cannot verify condition. currently have auto data recorder on vehicle.*ak

 Engine rpm's went to 5500 rpm's, vehicle did not go faster, just the motor. when cruise control was turned off, the vehicle coasted to the side of the road, as if the transmission had went to neutral, pushing on the gas pedal did not help.*ak

 While driving vehicle suddenly accelerated. accelerator suddenly stuck when applying gas on an incline. throttle became stuck, causing vehicle to strike a wall . consumer tried to contact gmc, but had no luck. *ak there was one person injured in accident. *slc

 Cruise control cannot be shut off via brake, only via master on/off switch. yesterday, even the master switch would not cut off the cruise control and it stuck in the accelerate position causing a run away vehicle situation. i had to smoke the brakes to stop an kill engine. vehicle has been towed to local chevy dealership. this hapened first when the truck was only 2 weeks old and then again yesterday twice. yesterday was the first time for the master switch to fail also. very dangerous!!! f. *ak

 The cruise control was not shutting off with application of the brake pedal only the master on/off switch, however the on/off switch failed to shut off the cruise control resulting in sudden acceleration. *mjs

 The gas pedal sticks intermittently while the vehicle is in motion. that is, while driving normally, and i press on the gas pedal to accelerate the vehicle, the gas pedal will not release after i have taken my foot off the pedal. the depressed pedal will remain in this position until i have pumped it several times. only after i have repeatedly pumped the gas pedal will it be released and returned to its normal position. while pumping the pedal, i must simultaneously apply the brake to decelerate the vehicle.*ak

 This report is being submitted by sgt j passiglia of the independnece, mo police traffic safety unit. this vehicle was involved in a vehicular accident . the driver reported that as he pulled into a driveway the accelerator stuck causing him to lose control. he applied the brake but the truck would not stop. the vehicle struck a pedestrian. his injuries are very serious. possible fatality. the driver was not impaired. the physical evidence was consistent with the driver's statement. we have impounded the truck and will have it inspected. you can reach me at (816)325-7292 or email jpassiglia@indepmo.org. *ak
 Driver was going up hill on gravel road and shifted into 3rd gear , driver heard engine rev high. let foot off the accelrator and vehicle did not stop. applied brakes ,rear wheel still spinning, causing driver to lose control of vehicle, and roll over 2-3 times. please provide further information.*ak

 Vehicle experiences hisitation/stalling which causes rough driving. also, vehicle hesitates/stalls when foot is removed from accelerator. *ak

 Gas pedal stuck and brakes were hard to press when trying to slow down. this caused consumer to hit a tree. also, airbags did not deploy, and drivers side seat belt did not properly restrain. it did not lock into position, causing consumer to sustain a head injury. dealer has not been able to duplicate the problem. *ak *ml
