Ref: 2001 chevy s-10, extended cab, 4x2 the driver seat was adjusted forward (closer to the steering wheel), and while driving my daughter's (5' 2) seat moved all the way back where she could no longer maintain control of the vehicle. i tested the seat, while it was park and i can adjust the seat closer to the steering wheel and i can push the seat back everytime without using the bar that locks the seat in place. *jb

The passenger seat does not latch properly. it has been to the shop on numerous occasions both under warranty and recently having to pay out of pocket and it still does not latch properly if you brake the seat slides forward, causing a possible injury to the occupant, possibly throwing them through the front windshield. adjustments have been made, and both of the seat rails have been replaced. also, there is the lose of the vehicle while it is in the shop. i believe that this is possibly a defect with all 2001 chevy s-10 pick up trucks. *nm

The pasenger seat would not securely latch in place. when i would brake the vehicle, if the seat was not in the farthest back position, it would immediately slide all the way to the forward position. after 3 attempts to fix it, including replacing both seat rails, gm advised my dealers service dept. that unless the carpet below the rails was cut away the rails would not bolt down square to the floor. this kept the latching mechanism from securing the seat in place. apparently gm was aware of this, but i was never notified that the problem existed. any passenger in my pickup could have been severly injured if i had been required to make a hard stop. i feel the manufacturer should notify oweners of such a defect that could cause injury. have other owners of this vehicle been notified of the potential danger?*ak
