| This is a 2003 chevrolet silverado, regular cab, 5.3l v-8. it has about 164500 highway miles. the vehicle has been well cared for. the brake lines rotted out, and almost caused me to hit other vehicles...without warning. gm will not offer any help, although this is a huge problem based on research and just hearing others tell of the exact same problem. they should recall all of the vehicles that have this problem; and reimburse those who have suffered financial hardship repairing an obvious flaw that is a huge safety hazard. | |||

| 2003 chevy silverado - i have been having trouble with the speedometer fluctuating and oil pressure gauge going all the way up and all the way down. i did some research and found that chevy had a special policy which intels this special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 7 years or 70,000 miles (110,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. i have done lots of research and there is a problem with the instrument panel cluster gauge needle function in a lot of chevy's. that being stated why would there not be a recall on all?? i have only had this truck for around 2 years and never had a problem until now. the special policy stated customers are being instructed to contact the dealership to arrange an appointment if they believe their vehicle has this condition. so the people that are now having the problem after this special policy' runs out are having to pay around $385.00 on there own to fix chevy's problem which i think is unfair. from what i was told by one of the chevy dealerships this is an ongoing problem they are having. please help!!!!!!!! | |||

| Reduce engine power message. 2003 chevy silverado. driving down major 3 lane highway, message appears and trucks power goes to 15 mph. tried to get into slower lane and off highway and was almost in a serious accident due to no power. truck will not accelerate any faster than this. has happened 3 times since. major safety feature with chevrolet. other than dinger going off and immediately after that truck looses all power to accelerate. can happen at any time. codes are reading throttle positioning sensor. after doing some research on this it seems there are several other year and models doing same with people spending $1,000.00 or more and problem not resolved. has happened 3 times since. after unhooking battery for approx. 10 min. it will reset itself and message will be gone until it happens again. | |||

| Speedometer. may go to 65 mph sitting still. works periodically and then suddenly will jumpt to 90 mph. this is a safety issue - especially when hauling grandchildren!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have emailed gm three times with absolutely no response of any kind. | |||

| Speedometer on chevy 1500 silverado 2003 erratic at times. dealers at first did not acknolwedge a recall, and now state i am out of policy allowance. never recived notice of recall, only heard in news. problem has become much worse in past 2 months, i first reported to dealer at 70k in jan 2010. | |||

| Anti-lock brake malfunction causing increased stopping distances. the vehicle will require a longer than normal stopping distance. initially the problem will be intermittent and increase to every time the vehicle is stopped at slow speeds (0-10mph). the sensor on the wheel bearing needs to be removed and cleaned and the mounting surface also needs to be cleaned. | |||

| 2003chevrolet silverado brakes. the abs kick in at low speeds on dry roads .a very soft pedal and sometimes the pedal will go to the floor before stoppping. the brought to my dealership many times and they keep saying they can't find the problem. my truck has 42.000 miles and i'm afraid to drive it so it sits in my driveway. | |||

| 1. rain 2. wiper motor, whenever i use the wipers, wiper arm sticks and wont return to normal postition, and sometimes goes all the to the left and hangs up on side of truck, causing me to have to push the arm back onto windshield and then push it down to its home position. 3. i will have to replace the wiper motor. | |||
