I bought my 2007 silverado on july 27,2006 i began having electrical problems no more than two weeks later it went in the shop august 08,2006 for windshield wipers malfunctioning the dealer replaced the wiper module a couple months later october 10,2006 wipers were doing the same they again replaced the module and motors ok that's fixed, then my brakes were locking up and would drag when i would stop even at speeds of 5-10 mph and also stay locked after taking off from a stop and also was pulling left then right when brakes were applied they had to change the brake pads and resurface the rotors. march 26, 2007( i had my radio burn up a cd and lights in radio burn out they had to replace the stereo and the back lights on my stereo control buttons and other buttons on steering wheel burnt out they changed those. then my accessory outlet keeps burning out any time i plug anything in it blows a fuse, my speedometer cluster lights burnt out they had to replace that) june 28, 2007 back in the shop for a knocking noise in steering shaft they had to replace the steering shaft. may 05, 2008 steering wheel lights burnt out again they replaced the buttons again. then august 31,2008 my family and i were leaving town due to a mandatory evacuation and i was pulling my trailer when i took the ramp to get off the interstate i had no trouble stopping at the stop sign but when i went to cross into the median at no more than 5-10 mph i had no brakes and was pushed into oncoming traffic which resulted in a crash i bought new tires in july 2008 and you can tell that they are being torn up by the brakes i just got my truck back from the shop and noticed the rear brakes are locking up again and dragging through turns even with no brakes applied at 5-10 mph does this seem like an electrical problem. *tr

Anti-lock brake system (abs) activates when not needed during low speed (<10 mph) stopping. this suddenly increases stopping distances in low speed braking situations. this is the exact same problem described in nhtsa campaign number 05v37900 issued for 1999-2002 chevrolet silverados for which a recall was issued on 8/30/2005.

The front right inner brake pad has been prematurely wearing compared to the other pads. local chevrolet dealer has been asked to adjust pads under warranty. tech said that the vehicle can not be adjusted and that they are wearing within normal time. brake pads are not lasting more than 7 months at a time due to inner pad wearing down to the metal backing while the other pads still have 3/4 of their life left. the front pads have been replaced approximately four times in three years. the front rotors had to be replaced twice in the same amount of time due to the same issue.

The truck has a continuous problem when trying to stop, it is very difficult to stop when needed, i have notified my chevy service dealer many times 8 to be exact, it has had many repairs pads, rotors, calipers to the brakes every time i bring it in. it started at 10,000 miles, and continues every 5000-8000 miles. pads, rotors replaced at 10,386 -17,892- 22,171- 22,171 - 28,722 and last week at 34,362 miles chevy keeps replacing the brakes, rotors or calipers but the truck is still very hard to stop when driving, it is a safety hazard and a danger to myself and anyone else on the road at the same time. i want to report this problem as i see many other have on the 2007 chevy silverado. *tr

While driving my 2007 silverado 1500 classic, i have had the brakes completely lock up. the first time this occurred it caused and accident, luckily no-one was injured. this happens on a regular basis, every time the brakes are applied hard. this truck has been back to the dealership at least 5 times for this problem and the same result is given each time our computer does not show any codes, so nothing is wrong. it mainly occurs at speeds around 40-60 m.p.h., but has started occurring on very humid or rainy days. i explained to the service manager that this should be some sort of safety concern and his response was, well until a code comes up on our computer, nothing is wrong. *tr

Brake rotors on 2007 chevrolet silverado had to be resurface due to warping or metal defects, dealer said was not covered by warranty even though vehicle had only 34,200 miles on it, paid for repairs, but felt this should have been a safety issue repair, due to possible loss of control in a hard braking situation. *tr

I bought a 2007 chevy. truck /1500 4 door crew in feb. 2007 and now have 48,106 miles (mostly highway miles) and had a brake failure in front brakes. i had the front rotors, pads and right caliper replaced on 04/25/08 at supreme chevy. they told the caliper locked up and caused the damage to the brakes. chevy. told me there is no recall for this and they have not had any problems with this. i have driven gm cars and trucks all my life and never had a problem like this before. some one is going to get hurt or worse if this problem is not addressed and fixed. i do not feel safe driving this truck anymore until chevy. tells me this chevy. trucks don't have a safety problems with the front brakes. i hope you can look into this and help with the problem. i don't want anything but just to be told this truck is safe to drive. thanks bruce rogers *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet silverado 1500. while driving 55 mph, the digital screen module displayed a malfunction message and the steering and brakes locked for approximately 5 seconds. the contact lost control of the vehicle. the engine was still running and the contact pulled to the side of the road. he called the dealer and was advised not to turn off the vehicle, but instead drive directly to the dealer. the weather was not a factor. after numerous visits to the dealer, they stated that the hybrid battery and engine failed. the hybrid control module was replaced and the dealer repaired the hybrid open fuse module. the current mileage was 23,500 and failure mileage was 345.

2007 chevy silverado, purchased in late 2006. took vehicle to dealer where purchased could find nothing wrong. brakes squeaking very loudly, truck is bouncing erratically and sense a steering issue. 1st dealer also told me the tires just needed to be rotated. the truck is now at another dealer and i have yet to hear the verdict. the truck makes whining noises like in old trucks when the power steering would go bad. this truck currently has 21,000 miles. *tr

Under normal driving conditions at highway speeds 60-80 (more noticeable but can still feel at lower speeds when stopping) mph when the brakes are applied to slow for a toll plaza or off ramp the truck and steering wheel shake excessively. have driven with 2 mechanics and a service manager at maroone chevrolet and they have noticed this problem but state it is normal or not that bad. this is not acceptable as i tow a boat a couple times per month that is 3500 lbs. the truck is rated to pull 7800 lbs. i am worried this could cause brake failure/premature brake component wear. the vehicle was in the shop 5 times for this problem and it still continues. now the brakes squeal when they are applied and tires are wearing on the inside (a friend with the same truck is also wearing on the inside). the dealer replaced front rotors after turning them once, replaced the front and rear pads, replaced rear drums, and rebalanced the tires. condition still remains. *tr
