 The rear turn signal and brake indicator failed without. dealer stated that electronic relay malfunctioned. it only happened during the winter months. *ak chevrolet silverado 1998 has had on going electrical and braking system issues since it was new. *bf *nm

 Both taillight inserts, the piece that holds the bulbs in taillight lens went bad within a 1 month period. this caused me to have no taillights or blinkers. each piece costs over $50. this is a defective design as 3 other people i know have had the same problem. *ak

 Daytime running lights can not be turned off due to design without coming to complete stop and engaging emergency parking brake, this has caused problems due to laws (military sites do not allow for lights to be on when entering).
EXTERIOR LIGHTING - TAIL LIGHTS

 Consumer's 3rd tailight short circuited. light bulb that was replaced seemed burned at the socket. consumer had to order a $48 base & there seemed to be an electrical problem. *ak

 Consumer was trying to change tail lights & found that the manufacturer tightened too much the brackets which made it crack. dealer & manufacturer will only repair vehicle at consumers expense. vehicle is under warranty. *ak
EXTERIOR LIGHTING - TURN SIGNAL

 The consumer stated the windshield wiper motor failed. *ak the consumer stated the module was replaced. *jb also the turn signal lights were replaced because of a burned out bulb. *jb

 Turn signal would stop operating because socket overheated and caused bulbs to blowout. socket was replaced on two occasions, and problem reoccurred. feel free to provide any further information.*ak
