| Without any indication, front end of vehicle locked up, causing consumer to lose control of vehicle. dealer was contacted, and stated that subframe needed to be replaced. *ak *nlm the front differential was torqued sideways and broken apart, causing the frame to have 2 breaks, this caused the front to lock up, also prior to this consumer complained of a delay between the forward and reverse, when a bump was felt when accelerating, consumer also heard a clunk noise, dealer drained and replaced the transfer case fluid twice. the engine sputters in 4 wheel low and there is a whine noise or pulley noise from the engine. the front seat arm rest fell off. the left front daytime lamp was full of water due to the assembly being improperly sealed at the factory. the brakes pulsated and pedal felt soft, dealer stated the right rear caliper was sticking and the front and rear rotors were corroded badly, causing the brake pads to wear. the electric brake was inoperable, dealer installed a new plug, the wiring harness was badly damaged. the power windows were inoperable. the left door creaks due to front door link being loose. consumer was informed that he was supposed to sign a waiver because of the plow being placed onto the extended cab, this was because the installation was not recommended, however the consumer was never informed of this until after the installation and the problems with the vehicle. *slc | |||

| Throttle linkage has shown increasing pedal effort to move accelerator from the idle position. was advised by dealer that throttle body should be cleaned, however service manual indicates throttle body should not need cleaning except for high mileage engines. a later service bulletin indicates throttle body replacement is warranted (#00-06-04-007b). although condition began prior to expiration of warranty, dealer will not repair vehicle (mileage >36000). since new, have also had to have both power window drive motors and regulators replaced (one under warranty and another after warranty expiration).*ak | |||

| Gas pedal sticks if foot is removed for any reason, be it coasting into a turn, starting out from a stop. speed of vehicle does not matter. when the foot pedal engages there is sudden excelleration, cause passengers head to wipe forward. on icy conditions this has become a danger in itself. at the gas station inching up to pump it has locked up and lunged forward almosting hitting a vehicle in front. i have notifed the dealership. i have also spoke to three other people who have this same, year, make and model and all say they have the same problem. two of them have had repairs done on the gas pedal. window on driver side (electric) was being rolled up half way up window cable broke and window slammed down inside door. both passenger and drivers doors seem loose when rolled down as you can hear them rattleing inside. controls are intermittent and when temperature drops below 30 degrees don't work. passengers window 11/17/2000 wont not go up or down during temperature below 30. vehicle was not subhect to elemints as it was inside for repair to driver window. new motor and regulator need after 1 1/2 years. dealer informed no information. *ak | |||

| Vibration in drivetrain at speeds less than 45mph. engine only runs 1,000-1,100 rpm's at speeds less than 45mph. transmission shifts into 3rd at approx. 20mph and 4th at approx. 30mph. engine feels like it is struggling at speeds less than 50mph. two different dealerships stated there was a problem, but said that everything was electronic and nothing could be adjusted. a/c is not cooling sufficiently. it only cools on full cool with re-circulation and fan on high. even then, air coming directly from center vent does not get below 48 degrees. i tested two other vehicles and both blew 40 and 42 degrees from center vent. two different dealerships admitted there was a problem, but stated there was no fix. driver-side outside mirror vibrates. dealer replaced twice and both manufacurer and dealer refuse to replace again. weather stripping along ouside bottom of both driver and passenger windows is defective. dealer and manufacturer both refused to correct problem because other stock units look the same. | |||

| I was driving at about 30mph,aloud humming noise started,and my abs light came on.i turned off the ignition,but the noise continued.i found the humming noise coming from under the truck,on the drivers side,under door area.there is a blackbox with 2 electrical plugs.it was necessary to pull one of the plugs to get the humming to stop.but now my abs light and my brake lights are on all the time on dash.took the truck to original dealership,and was told that the abs pump and module both went bad.i was told that the cost to repairs would be $1685.66.i just can't believe that both parts went bad.the truck is only 2 years old.now i am driving with my truck in this condition,because i don't have enough available cash on hand to have the repairs done.(2) both drivers side and passenger side windows rattle when they are down.it doesn't matter how far down the windows are.i'm waiting for them to break.it sounds as if they are ready to fall off the track.this has been a problem since i purchased the truck.i told the dealer about it ,but nothing was ever done to correct the problem.(3)also,on the front passenger door,there is an air leak when i am driving,again told dealer,and nothing was done.(4)on the third door on right side,rear,water leaks in around glass.took it back to dealer,& was told they couldn't find the reason for the water leak.still continues to leak,when it rains or i wash the truck.another problem i have is with the truck hydroplaneing in the rain.this has also been going on since i purchased truck new in feb.1999.lost total control on one occasion.truck went completely sideways on roadway.i was traveling at about 50mph.,in a 60mph zone.i was in traffic at the time,the other vehicles around me realzed the situation,and backed off giving me room.when i finally regained control,i pulled off of the highway.i was very badly shaken from the experience*ak (tiresize: p265-75r16)( dot number: tire size: p265-75r16 ) | |||

| Initial air leak occurred approximately 1 month after delivery, the window was replaced, and has been replaced 5 other times including next service appointment, in sept. or oct. of this year a thumping sensation was felt through the steering wheel, after one attempt to service, dealer was unable to reproduce problem, i requested appointment with service advisor in which problem was noticed. i was told it was a lower control arm bushing and that was occurring with the 99 silverado frequently. with that said the service advisor at parks chevrolet in beaufort, sc 843-525-4100 stated that both the window would be repaired at the same time the front was repaired; he would order the parts; i have received no calls from the dealer. *ak | |||
