Driving at 30 miles an hour brakes failed due to rusted rear brake line. chevrolet dealer (palm chevrolet of punta gorda florida) said this was normal wear & tear and that all the brake lines needed replaced due to rust. they charged $343. for just 1 brake line. they would not honor a 10 year 100,000 mile warrenty that i purchased with the vehicle for $1,200. truck is only 5 years old with 39700 miles on it.

Tl-the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet silverado. the contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the abs light illuminated on the dashboard. the contact noticed that the brakes and rotors were wearing excessively due to a defective hub senor that controlled the braking system. the contact took the vehicle to a dealer to have the hub sensor and brake bearing replaced three times. none of the repairs remedied the issue with the braking system. the contact called the manufacturer regarding nhtsa campaign i.d. 07e106000 (wheels:cap/cover/hub). the manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in the recall. the failure mileage was 88,000. kmj

The front wheel hubs and bearings, including wheel speed sensors, are failing on these pickups. this is, apparently, a known issue and gm refuses to do anything about it. why not? this is a blatant safety issue.

Abs sensor reads incorrectly and triggers the abs system to kick in every time the brakes are used, causing the brake pedal to rumble and giving the sensation of brake failure when the pedal goes soft under your foot. this is worse when turning left. extra distance is required for braking at all times. abs warning light comes on at random times for no apparent reason.

My 2007 silverado has the same brake problem that was a recall on older model silverado's. the nhtsa campaign number for the previous recall was 05v379000. it appears the canadian transportation board ordered a recall for the 2007 models but the nhtsa has not. is this something being looked into? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet silverado. immediately following brake application at 55 mph, he heard a squealing sound. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the front rotors were replaced. after the repair the failure resurfaced. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer multiple times, and the rear brakes were cleaned and the rotors were replaced. upon further inspection he noticed that the front brakes drag. none of the repairs have remedied the failure. the failure mileage was 10,000. the current mileage was 35,241.
