My fathers trucks brake lines failed and we had no brakes, had to veer off the road to avoid an accident. these lines should be better then this. my older 1993 chevy silverado never had a brake line problem. there should be a mandatory recall put on these lines for all the trucks. gm will not put one on till someone gets killed. *tr

I was backing my boat into to boat ramp to go fishing and when i pushed the brake to stop the pedal went straight to the floor with no warning what so ever. i had to hit the emergency brake pedal to get stopped. upon looking under the truck to search for a problem i found that the brake line by the drivers door had ruptured causing a major brake failure. had i been on the road when this happened there is no doubt that there would have been an accident . *tr

2004 chevrolet 2500 crew cab truck brake lines completely rusted out. noticed problems with brakes not wearing evenly and eventual loss of braking. took truck to original dealer for servicing to find out the brake lines were completely rusted and fluid leaking from the rusted areas. was informed by the dealer that it was not cost effective to replace all the brake lines because they would have to be custom fit. we also have a 2000 chevrolet 1500 extended cab that has double the mileage of the 2004 and is still working perfectly, no rusted lines.

Purchased the vehicle, 2 months later a noise emanated from the engine compartment. i found the power steering pump to be void of fluid. i added the proper fluid. immediately a leak occurred from the brake hydraulic boost. i researched your data and your information indicated that a safety recall exists for the brake boost (#04v043000 and #04v045000). the dealer refuses to fix this issue unless i pay the $1000.00 to fix it. they say that no recall exists for my vehicle. what is correct? in addition, your data also shows the 2 other safety recalls for my vehicle which they agreed that did apply and are complied with. who/what is right? *jb
