 Tl- the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd. the contact stated the seat belt pulled back very fast and tight. when this occurred there was smoke coming from the seat belt re-tractor and from under the driver side seat. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told it was an inadvertent deployment of the seat belt pre-tensioner. the dealer contacted the manufacturer and was told not to work on the vehicle, because they were sending someone out to inspect the vehicle. the vehicle had not been inspected at the time of the complaint. the failure mileage and current mileages were 35,602.rl

 Tl- the contact owns a 2008 chevrolet silverado 2500 hd. the contact stated the retractor on the driver side seat is broken. the dealer inspected the seat belt and said they would have to replace the retractor. the component was under warranty or recall. the contact is concerned the seat belt will not work in the event of an accident. the failure mileage was 38000 and the current mileage was 46000.rl
