| I own a 2008 chevy silverado 2500, 4wd, duramax with allison trans . the problem is with the cruise control. between speeds of 30-45 mph, the cruise will not hold the speed steady going up a modest hill. rpms fluctuate 500-800 rpm causing the speed to surge upward and then back off only to repeat continuously while going up hill. had it to dealer twice who said it was normal. complained to gm hotline at 1-800-222-1020 and was given svc req # 71-806441267. approximately 10 days later on march 2, 2010, a district rep called me and told me that gm said it was normal and nothing to be done. i complained that this was unsafe, that i never had a vehicle that had a cruise that did this. he was sympathetic but unable to resolve problem. it may not be a widespread problem in that i have a friend living in another state, who has a clone of my vehicle (bought from same dealer) and he states that his truck does not do this. this situation is unsafe and totally unacceptable. *tr | |||
