Defect SummaryCertain replacement fuel filters, fram brand name p/n g3727, with date codes x52911 through x60801 sequentially or x600141 and a mexico country or origin marking on the fuel filter housing manufactured from october 18, 2005, through march 21, 2006, sold for use on the vehicles listed above and on certain school buses. (to see the school bus engine sizes, click on document search and then bus applications). the connector on the fuel filter was not manufactured to honeywell's specification. as a result, the o-ring may not seat correctly on the fuel line.
Consequence SummaryThis condition may cause an inadequate seal at the connection, potentially leading to a fuel leak. in the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur.
Corrective SummaryHoneywell will notify owners and replace the fuel filters free of charge. the recall began on october 18, 2006. owners may contact fram customer service at 1-800-890-2075 (option 1).

 Premature fuel line failure due to excessive corrosion causing spillage of fuel and risk of fire. all underbody fuel lines excessively corroded and developed leaks with fuel spilling on hot exhaust system parts. *tr

 Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500. the contact stated that when driving at various speeds, the vehicle would abnormally decrease in speed without warrant and sporadically stall. the failure would occur despite the contacts attempts to depress the accelerator pedal. the dealer replaced a portion of the fuel line with a hydraulic hose yet the failure recurred. the contact stated the fuel lines were collapsing and he was hesitant to drive the vehicle due to the intermittent stalling without warning. there were no further repairs made to the vehicle. the failure mileage was 58,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.

 Engine misfires and is downgraded to 25 mph on highway. engine knocks and rattles. problem is a known failure on a good share of 2004.5 through 2005 duramax diesel trucks where #2 and #7 fuel injector harness fails. mfg know this is a problem and will not fix the truck until the problem has surfaced. this problem could result in rear end collision on highway. they do not honor the warranty which states 5yrs.,100,000 miles. cost $504 my cost. i have a complaint lodged with the better business bureau of ct. fuel injector wiring harnesssvc bulletin 05-06-04-047c. *tr

 Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet silverado 3500. the contact stated that the vehicle has been to the dealer fifteen times for a variety of failures. there were defective fuel injectors and fuel pumps, the r& r intermediate steering shaft was replaced, and there was an occasional transmission leak. the dealer could not duplicate the leak. the contact ordered a spare tire, but it was never received. he consulted the manufacturer, who only informed him that there were no recalls or issues with his vehicle. the contact also spoke with the state attorney general. the current mileage was 22,000 and failure mileage was approximately 500.

 Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's fuel gauge did not indicate the correct amount of fuel. the vehicle had two fuel tanks filled and the gauge read empty. the dealer had attempted to repair the vehicle by replacing the fuel system on 4 occasions but that did not remedy the problem. the vehicle had run out of fuel on 10 occasions because of the inaccurate fuel gauge. the contact planned to contact the manufacturer.*ak
