Air conditioning just quits. check fuses okay. took truck to dealership and they charged $656.27 to fix a short in the blower resistor resulting in connector melting and blower failure. newer truck and asked dealership if under warranty or if recall, informed me there was not. got on internet at home and found several recalls on 2007 chevy silverado's and informed dealership through emails, about recalls and that is when i learnt our truck was manufactured in canada. called dealership where we purchased the truck in texas to inform them of recalls and they said it did not apply to our truck because it was kilometers and we have mileage, do i sound like i am bubba? recalls are from transport canada and numbers are 2011074-exact problem our truck is having; and 2009291 deals with airbags(which i have not even attempted to address because of the run around i have already experienced. canadian trucks should not be sold in america if recalls are not going to be honored. fire possibility and airbag deploying are very serious safety issues. called gm or chevrolet, have all emails of personnel i have contacted in regards to this issue.

Heater blower fan control relay plug located under the passenger side dash board. when fan is on high setting the plug and wires overheat and start to burn/melt and fan relay clicks off. i inspected the plug and have seen melted/bare wires also burnt plastic on the plug. after doing some online research i noticed a lot of chevy owners are having the same problem with other chevy models and years and this has led to many vehicle fires. i have also learned that chevy had a safety bulletin out on this for the dealers but they have failed to inform the car and truck owners i have contacted several chevy dealer service departments who are very aware of the problem. i was told that this is not covered by chevrolet and that i would have to pay around $90.00 just for a diagnoses inspection and additional money for the repair.
