 Passlock failure. chevy suburban fails to start leaves driver stranded. passive security system (passlock) blocks fuel so vehicle will not start. problem is intermitent and not detectable by mechanics. chevy dealer service departments say they have never heard of problem. there is however thousands of complaints on internet.

 Safety concern - no accident - 99 chevy suburban fuel pump failure. i change the pump. when i looked at the old pump i noticed the hot wire to the fuel pump inside the fuel tank had insulation melted near the top connection. i disassembled the connection and found it had been arcing inside the fuel tank. i have the fuel pump is you want to see it. 9note: i sent a note to gm on the matter and only received a form letter e-mail in response). *tr

 Tl* the contact owns a 1999 chevrolet suburban 6.5 diesel. when driving between 35-65 mph the engine will stall, especially on an incline. the fuel injectors and pump were replaced by the dealer. after the repair the failure resurfaced. since the warranty expired he was ineligible for a free remedy. the current mileage was 147,000. the failure mileage was 97,000. updated 11/17/09 *bf the injector pump needed to be replaced which had internal failure. updated 11/18/09
