2000 chevrolet suburban problems with the hoist mechanism that is holding the spare tire underneath of the vehicle.*mr the tire dealer was unable to release the spare tire, because the hoist mechanism was corroded. another dealership informed the consumer it was not uncommon for the mechanism to become frozen from corrosion. the dealer was unable to lubricate it, so therefore the entire unit had to be replaced. *jb

The air conditioner compressor sheared contaminating the whole system. gm recommends changing the whole system at a cost of 3to4 thousand dollars. the second compressor has already failed. i have checked into this and happens quite often. gm needs to step up and issue a recall on these faulty compressor this happens just after the warranty runs out. *nlm
