While driving down the road with the cruise control off vehicle began to accelerate on its own. hitting the brakes would not stop the engine from revving. lifting up on acclerator pedal would not slow vehicle. had to turn engine off and restart, this allowed the vechicle to resume normal operation. this first occured on a sharp curve and could have caused an accident. a call to my dealer showed there were no recalls that were outstanding for this vehicle. this is a dangerous problem and i have read about other complaints. i'm sure nothing will ever be done as it is probably not cost effective for chevy to fix it. *ak
