Fuel sending unit not functioning on 2005 chevolet tahoe. spoke with my mechanic who stated it was a very common problem with chevrolet tahoe. the sending unit made it so the gas did not register on the fuel gauge making it likely to run out of gas at an inopportune time, possibly creating a traffic hazard or crash.

The incident is the vehicle stalling on the interstate which could have lead to a accident if the vehicle behind me had not swirved at the last moment. the fuel guage registerd 3/4 tank of gas. once stopped at the next exit i was able to put 25 gallons in the tank. i have since noticed that the guage will read sporatic readings but then settle back to around the 3/4 tank mark.

This complaint is for a 2005 mastercraft x-2 boat not a chevy tahoe. there is no option to choose boat manufacturers on this website. chevy makes the indymar 350 on this boat and is the closest option representing this boat available. the events leading up to the failure are either running the gas tank down to 1/4 tank full or running the gas tank empty. the failure can occur upon the first instance of running the tank to 1/4 full as i have documented proof of a boat owner with 3 hours on his boat have a failure. to correct the failure boat owners have to pay $500 for the same poorly designed pumped which is subject to failure and stranding the boat owner once again in open water at unexpected times (often at the end of their boating day which is dangerous because it is usually dark or beginning to become dark). unless of course it is within 2 years of purchasing a new boat in which case your still stranded but the dealer warranties the pump work installing another faulty fuel pump. here is a forum where the issues can be discussed and specific reports reviewed. http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=25783&highlight=fuel+pump to further explain the safety issues involved, atleast two documented owners on this forum have tried to fix this issue on their own coming up with their own solutions. this could be very dangerous and result in out of tank pumps/home style fixes to this plagued fuel system. *tr

Every time i start my vehicle, my gas light goes on and indicates i am low on fuel when i have gas in it. after driving for awhile the needle will go up but it is not giving an accurate reading of how much gas is in the tank. *tr

Fuel gauge is constantly inaccurate. the car has a 26 gallon tank, after filling up and driving sometimes 50 miles the gas light will come on telling me i am out of gas. i have sit on level surfaces watching the gauge go from full down to completely empty several times. this problem could potentially leave a person stranded as they do not know how much gas is in the vehicle. *tr

While driving, the gas pedal stuck in the down position causing car to sped up. it then slowed down. upon inspection by mechanic, it was found that a spring on the gas pedal had become dislodged. one end of the spring is straight (like an opened paper clip) the straight part had stuck into the carpet and then slowly eased out. the mechanic was able to recreate the situation. because of this, my wife was issued a summons which is still pending. e-mails to general motors have gone unanswered. *tr
