| I was traveling on a state highway to an event. this was the second day of the event, so i had traveled the same road the day prior. i slowed to cross railroad tracks. while crossing the tracks, the front and middle side airbags deployed on both the driver's and passenger's sides. the force of the deployment also cracked areas around the interior walls and blew out the rear overhead light. i am not sure exactly what, but something struck me on the top of my head at the time of the deployment. fortunately, i had slowed to cross the tracks or there could have been a different outcome. *tr | |||

| Car has not been in an accident. just concerns like so many other gm customers. there is a crack that is at the airbag, on the passenger side, that keeps getting bigger. concerned that airbag might deploy, or not work at all. have contacted gm corporate several times telling them about the same issue that other customers are having in this same area. when contacting gm they tell me that they have not heard of this issue, but there are so many customers that have complain online. i was told to take my vehicle to the dealership for further inspection and was told that this could have happen by using armorall, in that case the whole console would be cracked and not in certain places where all other customers are seeing the same exact cracks. actually the entire console is affected with several cracks. if gm was not aware, how come some of their customers consoles have been changed out by the dealership? more than once. they tell me because of the model and the mileage of my vehicle it would not qualify. this is a material issue plus a safety issue if it affects the stability of an airbag. there are even videos on u tube that shows a visual picture. *tr | |||

| My wife was driving down the street at 5:30 am to go to a charity event 5k run. she was going 40mph, on a street that had no traffic on it that early in the morning, when out of the blue, all the side curtian airbags deployed. i contactd gm central office, they did an investigation, then told me that they were not at fault, that the computer on the tahoe said it was about to be in an accident so the airbags deployed. i told him the computer was evidently wrong since my wife was not about to be in an accident. he said that the tahoe functioned normally as it should. i asked him again if it was normal for airbags just to deploy on their own with no evidence of an accident and if the computer said so, then evidently the computer is wrong and faulty and something needs to be done before someone gets killed.. he said gm will not admit any fault and they will not pay for it. i am seeking legal counsel for a class action lawsuit. if this had happend in the middle of the day on a crowded interstate, i have no doubt that there would have been a horrific wreck and people seriously injured if not killed. gm needs to own up and take responsibility and do a recall. | |||

| Upon inspection of the dashboard it has cracked both above the steering wheel on the left side and at the corner of the airbag on the passager side. i am concerned that if this cracks any worse the airbag may deploy and injure a passager or it may cause the steering column to mailfunction if the dashboard falls. chevy should be recalling this so that no one is injured. | |||

| I just bought a used chevrolet tahoe from a dealership and unfortunately the vehicle mileage is over 36,000 miles but is only a year old. here is my complaint. my airbag service light came on while driving from texas to nevada and does not shut off. the dealership said they do not cover this anymore since it is out of warranty and i would have to pay for parts and labor for servicing the air bag system. i do not believe the air bag system coverage should be connected with mileage. the vehicle is only a year old and it is already giving me an airbag servicing light. why can't general motors fix this at their expense? chevy tahoe 2007. *tr | |||

| Tl* the contact owns a 2007 chevrolet tahoe. while traveling at a speed of 35 mph the contact press on the brake and the vehicle accelerated up to 40 mph. the contact pressed the break again and the vehicle immediately stopped. contact experienced failure with several components such as the battery, all the power door locks lock it automatically sets the alarm off. when the contact places his left foot close to the break pedal and emergency break the interior lights and chimes would come on. on another occasion while parked the vehicles air bag deployed with smoke coming from the dashboard. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the control module was replaced and the air bag system was repaired. dealer refuses to perform service until further notice from the manufacturer. the current mileage is 36,500 and failure mileages were 15,000. updated 5/20/2010 *cn | |||

| We have a 2007 chevy tahoe. one of the reasons we purchased this vehicle is that it has front and side airbags. i usually ride in the passenger seat and the sensor most often indicates off. after numerous attempts of trying to get them to establish what was wrong, the chevy dealer said that my weight was not quite enough to get it to work or that it was positional( how i sat). i am a grown woman who weighs about 115 lbs and am 5'2.this is not thin by normal standards and it is not considered an unusual size. if in fact this vehicle was not meant to work for someone of my size they should advise you of this. i asked what would happen if there was a wreck and my airbag did not deploy, would i have to sue gm? they are avoiding me and i have written to the ceo of gm as advised by customer service and i have written to bill heard, the owner of tom jumper chevrolet where we bought the car. no answers from anyone. what do you think? *jb | |||

| I own a 2007 chevy tahoe. one morning while driving, i applied my brakes and changed lanes to avoid getting hit. my side curtain air bags deployed without any explaination. i called gm to report the incident, they sent an investigator who came out the very next day to inspect my vehicle. he took pictures of my vehicle and downloaded the sensor information. the gm manager told me that the air bags deployed as they should have in an event of a rollover. it was evident that the rollover never happened as there was no other damage to my vehicle. gm denied any fault and denied my claim to get the air bags and my seat belts fixed. i contacted my insurance company, who also inspected my vehicle and replied that the car had a mechanical malfunction and that gm should be liable for my damages. gm has closed my claim and will not talk to me any more. gm has done nothing to correct this failure in my opinion. my vehicle is still under gm extended vehicle warranty and they are not willing to fix it under that claim either. | |||
