The accident happened 10/29/2004 around 7:00 pm. my husband, robert e. alford was traveling on highway 27 north coming home from vicksburg, ms. the accident report claimed he lost control of the 2002 chevrolet trail blazer he was driving and crossed into the other lane. he was hit on the passenger side of the vehicle by the vehicle in the south bound lane. the accident report used the phrase t boned in describing the impact of the vehicles. my husband's vehicle caught fire almost immediately on impact and he couldn't be saved according to the witnesses. *jb

The spare tire release cable on my 2002 chevrolet trailblazer became twisted and could have broke releasing the spare tire as the vehicle drove down the road. the spare tire had never been removed from compartment and so it would appear to be a manufacturer defect. *jb

The spare tire hoist cable system tangled or jammed and would not allow the spare to lower further or raise. i had to use rope to tie the spare tire to the frame to make sure it would not fall down while i was driving which clearly could have thrown the back of the vehicle upward. the dealer had to cut the cable and replace the entire hoist assembly: $176.54. the hoist had been used successfully on three other occasions. *jb

Have had many of the problems i read on posted complaints: new engine required within nine months-one year of owning new vehicle, inside driver door panel replaced three times, change oil and service engine lights staying on, hood not closing properly, back glass needing replacement, fabric problems in back seat, etc., etc. and this morning it is a $200 problem with the headlight switch. too many things to even remember or name, but chevy has a pretty thick file on me and my vehicle. *nm

It appears the truck is suffering from a major computer defect. with all fuses in tact, many functions no longer work (remote access, radio functions after ignition turn off, automatic volume increase on radio when accelerating). additionally, the 4x4 torque converter switch does not light up and appears to be nonfunctional, the airconditioning quits and after alleged repair, stays on all the time regardless if set to air or vent, the rear hatch is defective and can't be opened, the tail lights have burnt out three times and two headlighrs have burnt out.

This vehicle is equipped with "memory" mirrors that are supposed to return to the last stored position when the remote keyless entry is used. instead they drive to an extreme position, make a loud clicking noise, and stay that way. many times i've been trying to make a lane change and found the mirrors pointing toward the pavement. the manufacturer is aware of the defect and has fixed it in the 2003 model. however, they refuse to fix my vehicle. this problem exists in all 2002 trailblazers and gmc envoys. there is an internal service bulletin at chevrolet that explains it.

Not your ordinary safety defect but an unsafe condition nonetheless. i live in arizona, a place that tends to get a little warm. when the vehicle heat soaks in the sun the remote keyless entry fails.the dealer has replaced the main receiver board and the ( 2 ) entry transmitters with no effect other than modifying the failure characteristics. the ( 2 ) key transmitters also do not operate the entry system in an identical manner. one will operate all entry system functions, the other ( transmitter #2 ) will not. this will create a severe problem if immediate access is required to the vehicle and you cannot rely on the system to have the vehicle unlocked when you get to it. my brother, also the owner of a 2002 trailblazer, is complaining of the same problem.*ak

Operation of remote control to unlock vehicle causes outside mirrors to move from preset position. this creates a hazardous situation, especially is view from inside mirror is restricted. dealer says no fix is known.
