First let me tell you that we are die hard chevy customers. we still own my '82 chevy silverado pick up and it's running fine. last may we traded in our little '97 cavalier that we had taken on numerous trips and pretty much trouble free the five years we owned her. then we bought the '02 trail blazer. haven't gone on too many trips with him yet, but except for one performance flaw that we have discovered that is causing us concern we like the car so far. the concern comes when we have to brake suddenly to avoid a hazard in the road. the car tends to become squirrelie and feels as though it is going to flip over. rather frightening when you need to react quickly and suddenly are faced with this unsettling situation. is there others who are experiancing the same problem with their trail blazers?

Tl*the contact owns a 2002 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that she is the second owner of this vehicle. in 2006, the vehicle was repaired according to a recall for the brake light sensor. while driving various speeds, both of the brake lights failed. she took her vehicle to the dealer in july of 2007 and was informed that the brake light sensor board was fried. since the repair was previously performed in 2006, the dealer will not repair it again. the contact would be responsible for the repair. the failure mileage was 79,000.

Well serviced 90k miles. traveling at 35mph pushed breaks all the way down (fracturing right ankle) slowed me down but failed to stop at upcoming red light. struck medium size vehicle injuring other driver and causing considerable damage to both vehicles. chevy dealer collision/service center estimated $8k in repairs. in other words it costs more to repair it than what the vehicle is worth. also:master cylinder is bad and air bags did not deploy. chevy tech. said impact was not big enough . after reading some eight other complaints very similar to this . i am concerned about driving this or getting into another one. is there not a break light service sensor that i should have noted.? service manual for scheduled maintenance says to check front and rear axle fluid and add fluid as needed every 5k to 7k miles after 67.5k miles. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2002 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving approximately 55 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle did not stop or slow down. the contact then depressed the brake pedal with maximum pressure and the brakes locked. the vehicle pulled to the right. the contact let up on the brake pedal, but the vehicle would still not stop. it locked up and pulled to the left onto its side and rolled completely over. the vehicle landed on its four flat tires. the vehicle was destroyed and the contact sustained injuries to his neck, shoulder, and back. he also suffered memory loss. the current and failure mileages were 107,000.

I bought the 2002 trailblazer on february 2008 drove it for about a month and a half total the rest of the time it has been back to the dealership for repairs. everything including the motor needed to be replaced, the transmission needs to be replaced just accelerated onto the gas heard a loud crack and the truck shook like an earthquake had hit, lost acceleration would not go any faster than 30-35 miles an hour and car would not disengage from neutral at first and the would not go into reverse., brakes have made a pulsation feeling and they were done days before i bought the vehicle and replaced again including rotors a month after i bought the vehicle, there have been too many crackling and metallic tinging noises that don't go away, the 4 wheel drive engages and disengages on it's own when driving 65-70 miles an hour. the steering wheel had a constant rubbing noise and dealer told me all of my complaints were nothing detrimental and basically blew me off. the truck jerks alot on it's own doesn't matter if i am in motion or if i put it into gear or park it jerks. i don't feel safe in this vehicle, it seems to be possessed. i am scared to death to drive it, so i have stopped driving it. i don't know what to do. my first car was a chevy and now this one, i will never own another chevy product. i don't know what to do, i don't want this. i fear my own and everyone else's life!! *tr

In my 2002 chevrolet trailblazer, at approximately five mph, approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and after slowing down to approximately one mph, the vehicle continued to roll thru the stop sign, across 4 lanes of traffic and finally came to a stop when it hit the curb on the opposite side of the intersection. the vehicle was subsequently hit by a large truck. there were no injuries. had it not been for the curb, the vehicle would not have stopped. after having the vehicle towed to the nearest chevy service facility, the service manager told me that this was an inherent behavior with anti-lock brake systems. i tend to agree with him as my 2000 chevy silverado had demonstrated the same behavior. there were no apparent leaks in the system and the master cyclinder was full. after the accident, the vehicle was started and the brake pedal continued to go all the way to the floor while the vehicle was in park. the service facility was not able to reproduce the behavior the next morning and referred me to gm customer service where a case has been filed.

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC - ANTILOCK - ABS WARNING LIGHT

I just purchased this 2002 trailblazer sept 30 2006.. it was november 22, 2006- the 4 wheel drive indicator lights were blinking when i put it in reverse. the onstar lights were on. the seat belt lights were on. later the next day, my father got in my vehicle to move it, when the brake sensor came on and wouldn't go off. he didn't use the emergency brake. my father called apple chevy in west york pa to see what they could do. the 24th they called and said the vehicle needed a e.b.c.m. ( electronic brake control module ). i have a 9 month old son. i get to go pay for the bill, and it costs 930. 25 for a vehicle that wasn't that old. it does have 144, 000 + miles but it was well maintained or so i thought. they did a car fax and it was clean. or so i thought. apple chevy in west york wouldn't help with any cost repairs. they said when you get an as is vehicle, its your problem. well after 4 vehicles that my dad bought from them, we are no longer customers. me being a hot head, my dad told me to not say nothing and be nice. i kept my comments to a low roar. i called the general manager and he said an as is sale is what it is. i got no satisfaction. but a comment i said to him was- what if it was your wife and son what would you do? he said i wouldn't buy an as is vehicle. i basically asked if he wanted some lemonade from the vehicle i just got. i said well i must have sucker written on my head and that next time warn me about getting more ky for the screwing i just received. he basically said sorry i feel that way. we could bring it back and get something different from them. but i basically said no and hung up. still the radio malfunctions, the 4 wheel drive may work sometimes, the vehicle acted like it was in neutral. then after being towed, it acts fine. so at present, it sits in my parents garage not driven with $ i still pay for insurance and payments. i did hear a grinding from the shifter when putting it into drive. i don't trust it. thank you. *jb

After less than eighteen months of ownership and having not even taken a lengthy trip our ls has racked up more head aches than a little. just a few months ago dealers wanted to charge over $600. for a repair of the fan clutch something that never happens to vehicles to our knowledge. i have owned gm products for many years; this will certainly be the last one! now we are faced with our dealer advising us that the vehicle needs all rotors replaced, as well as pads, parking brake, etc. how could this be? most vehicles get brake pads; this thing requires all the components be replaced due to rust! (sounds like chevy is manufacturing a faulty vehicle) we are not going to settle for it. in fact we had recommended the product to fiends and family who bought three of them. we are going to tell everyone of the experience, as well as recommend that they get rid of them as soon as possible because of such unpredictable problems. my recommendation is all owners sue to make chevrolet take the trucks back! we also contacted chevrolet about the unusual rusting on the underside of the hood, especially where the hinge is located - we were promptly ignored. *nm
