| When driving the check gages light illuminated and the oil pressure gauge was at zero. this occurred when i slowed and then stopped at a traffic light after having driven for about 20 minutes (the vehicle sounded as if it were about to turn off so i pulled over and turned it off). when looking at the instrumentation panel i then noticed the check battery light is dimly illuminated (battery is 6 mo old) and various readings are off (rpg is registering low and one rpm indicator starts at 5 when the ignition is turned on). various trailblazer forums are indicating owners are experiencing the same problem. two chevrolet dealerships have indicated that it is likely an instrumentation cluster problem (and indicate they have guidance from gm to run 2 checks to determine if it is an instrumentation cluster problem). two independent repair shops have identified it as an instrumentation cluster problem that they have seen on many 2002 trailblazers. the repair costs range as high as $750. gm customer assistance can only state this is not a recalled repair (applies to later models but not 2002); therefore, it is the customer's responsibility. my gm file # is 71-1158688099. gm did ask that i pay $80 for the diagnostics, while also saying they would not pay for the repairs. adding an additional $80 to costs or paying a dealership more money than an independent shop is not practical nor an added expense i should assume. most amazing is that gm can give dealerships instructions on diagnosing this problem, dealerships are repairing a far amount of vehicles with this problem, independent repair shops are aware of this problem because of the many customers who patronize them, yet gm takes no responsibility for correcting this known known problem..this is dangerous, the car can stall anywhere and lead to an accident without customers having any idea of the problem. | |||

| Was under vehicle and noticed a stress crack in the frame on the passenger side under the motor mount. this looks like it can be a potentially serious issue and looks as if it has been there for a while. the crack is approximately 6 long and on the very bottom of the frame directly below the engine mounting bracket. | |||

| I own a 2002 chevrolet trailblazer that has a defective transmission. the transmission has been completely replaced twice at approximately 24,000 miles and 45,000 miles. i learned recently on august 7, 2012, at just under 75,000 miles, that the transmission hoses were leaking fluid and that the transmission would need to be completely replaced again. i think general motors released a defective sports utility vehicle if the transmission needs to be replace approximately every 25,000 miles and these automobiles should be recalled as it could cause a safety hazard if the transmission stops working when someone is driving a chevrolet trailblazer. | |||

| I own a 2002 trailblazer which the transmission has failed twice since i have owned it. the first repair was september 2010 amount was $ 2000 and went out again in august 2011 costing me $1,500 the second time. this has been an ongoing problems with the trailblazer and they have not yet chosen to recall this problem. hopefully no one has gotten hurt or will get hurt. i was almost hit from the rear the day my truck just stopped in the middle of the road no warnings or signs. this is a serious problem and what will it take for gm to recall this i guess they hope the problem will just go away. gm knows this is a problem if they changed the sunshell material on the newer models ones that are more heat resistant why make the part more sturdy if there is no problems or safety concerns. i am now trying to get rid of my truck and will never purchase another gm automobile. | |||

| I started my vehicle to leave a parking lot and as i put it in reverse, it made a very loud screeching noise. i applied the brake and immediately turned off the vehicle. i looked under the hood trying to see if there was anything noticeably wrong, nothing. i restarted my car again and put it in reverse and the screeching noise started again when i put the vehicle in reverse and it would not move. with the help of another person, we pushed it back then, put i it in drive and it did move forward and the noise stopped after awhile. i spoke with several people and i was informed that it was the transmission. i looked online, spoke with several mechanics, and they all informed me that it was a common problem for the trailblazer that the sun shell failing. i also found several discussions regarding the transmission problems of the sun shell failing all with varying mileage. i have received several quotes and they all vary in range. i also called the dealership that i purchased the vehicle from and they denied any knowledge of the transmission failing. i was told it was because of my high mileage. they quoted the highest of everyone with $2868 for a replacement. if it is common knowledge among the mechanics not associated with the dealership, i don't understand why the dealership denied any knowledge of the problem. the amount of money paid for these vehicles, gm should acknowlede all problems of their product and fix the problems. | |||

| I feel that even if you have had a recall issue once and the situation continues to happen then it needs to be fixed until the problem is solved i have contact gm several time and nothing has been done to ratify my problem with the windsheild wipers and the 4 wheel drive and several other recall issues this is sad i say we need a class action law suit i am not one to to take legal action but for people that have this kind of money and to not fix their problem that they put out on the roads for us to drive safely is shameful | |||
