The instrument panel goes crazy. i never know what speed i am going . one day it will work and the next it does not
08/26/2010119000
None of the dashboard instrument gauges are working in my 2003 chevy trailblazer. it began with the speedometer not working properly. it wouldn't work at times then it would suddenly start working and then the needle wouldn't go all the way down to zero and it would start at 10 or 15. i got a ticket once because the trooper said i was going about 70mph & the gauge was reading 60mph. the other gauges began to go out one at a time.

The instrument cluster on my 2003 chevrolet trailblazer fails to register the actual readings for speed and/or rpms.

My spedometer broke on my 2003 chevy trailblazer. sometimes it is parked & i am going 50 mph -- sometimes 70....i haven't had it fixed yet - but has heard of several people having the same problem. i feel gm should do a recall -- this is a dangerous thing.

2003 trailblazer instrument panel inoperative. goes in and out but does not show accurate speed or gauges.
10/29/201084200
Speedometer on my 2003 chevy trailblazer does not calibrate to zero when starting vehicle. this is causing erroneous speedometer display when operating the vehicle causing serious safety issues. i have read several other complaints of the exact issue. a recall should be issued to correct the problem while the number of deaths reported for this issue is still 0. does someone need to die before the problem is addressed?

I have (one of many) a 2003 chevy trailblaser with a bad instrument gauge cluster. currently, my rpm, speedometer, gas, oil pressure gauges do not work at all. from my research, i have learned that gm has this problems on almost all of their other trucks which they have a recall on. for some reason, the trailblaser does not have a recall on this problem. i would like to know why.

Spare tire carrier not operational. inability to change flat tire unsafe and costly (of course, to the owner). general motors poorly re-designed spare tire winch includes plastic housing for cable that deteriorates in the severe service area of a motor vehicle. previous designs did not involve the use of plastics in the external mechanisms. mine failed leaving me with a flat tire and a perfectly good spare that i was unable to lower from the rear undercarriage of the vehicle. makes no sense to replace the winch with another of the same design leaving most people no option to either not carry a spare or carry inside the vehicle either unsafely anchored or not anchored at all becoming a projectile in the event of an accident. *tr

I have a 2003 chevy trailblazer that i have been having problems with the a/c since the date of purchase. i have taken the vehicle back to the dealer and the continually advise me nothing is wrong with the a/c. the a/c blows hot all the time, for that matter the blower vents omit hot air continually. i have made every effort to have the problem fixed without any assistance. this seems to be an ongoing problem with the 2003 model. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving approximately 5 mph the vehicle began making a loud noise. the contact pulled over and noticed that the rear driver's side tire was flat. while attempting to remove the spare tire the hoist failed to crank to release the spare tire. the serial number for the crank was not visible. the mechanic stated that the wires for the hoist were crossed. the current and failure mileages were 48,000.*ak

Our windshield wipers were inoperable. the wiper switch was turned on with absolutely no response from the wipers. the dealership has replaced it. however, other electrical problems keep occurring. for example, our air conditioning switch malfunctioned, the onstar did not send tracking information properly, the alternator needed to be replaced, and the fan for the heater would not work at any speed except low. we have only had this vehicle since august. i am thinking that this in an electrical problem instead of each individual piece being faulty. please let us know if you are hearing more of the same types of information. *la

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. while driving 25 mph, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge was not registering the correct amount of fuel. occasionally, the gauge would indicate that no fuel was present in the vehicle at all. the vehicle was not inspected and no repairs were made at that time. one year later, the temperature gauge, actuator on the air conditioning/heating system, and the speedometer failed. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they confirmed that the actuator failed. the vehicle was repaired at the cost of $720. the manufacturer stated that no compensation would be provided because the failure was not under recall. the failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 44,000. updated 4/23/09 *cn updated 04/28/09. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. the air conditioning and heating system would not cool or heat properly. in addition, the radio began shorting out and the blower motor stopped working. the dealer stated that the repairs would be the contact's responsibility because the vehicle was no longer under warranty. he has been to the dealer at least four times and neither the radio nor the vents have worked properly. the failures began within the first year of owning the vehicle. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was 37,200.

I have had the exact problems as stated in 10047425. windshield wipers went out completely on a rainy day, module replaced, a/c broke on a hot day-fixed, power steering assist stopped working completely making driving the vehicle nearly impossible, vehicle started on reserve power when temp hit -6 degrees, heater motor stopped working completely the next day -10 degrees. basically this vehicle doesn't like changes in weather. *ak

My 11-month old 2003 chevrolet trailblazer has had multiple quality problems, twice affecting my safety. most of the problems have been electrical in nature. the 4wd has become inoperable numerous times, once while driving in snow. in another incident during a severe thunderstorm at night the air conditioner (a/c) failed and i was unable to defrost my windshield in order to see. after one dealer failed to diagnose the 4wd problem, another dealer replaced my ignition switch because the technician said i had no power at all going to the rear grid. i continue to have intermittent electrical problems, including near stalling at a traffic light, and ongoing 4wd failures. the car also has very jerky motion when in 4wd reverse, of course, when the 4wd is working at all. the dealer told me that was normal and now i see there is a service bulletin on the problem. *la

If the vehicle is turned on, when you turn on the a/c, the a/c pump will not turn on. you either have to turn the a/c knob on/off a few times to get it to go, or open the front hood, and tap on the a/c pump with your hand to get it to start. this happens at any point in driving or while in park. the a/c will not blow cold air unless you do as i have stated above.*ak

Vehicle's dash gauges came on and speedometer started fluctuating after 35 miles driving and vehicle stalled out, not being able to restart. computer was replaced by dealer. problem arose again about a week later. gm had dealer replace another part in i believe the ignition key area. check engine light came on again in a couple weeks and vehicle would not start for dealer after it was driven there. dealer found wire connection in wiring harness to computer was not making continuous contact at a connection. also dealer had to replace a switch when the a/c would work intermittently. luckily i have a good efficient dealer and service department who cares about their customers. *jb
