| My truck hood latch and area surrounding is so rusted going down the road the hood just bounces like its going to come loose. i called an assortment of mechanics and they say its a common and big problem with the trailblazer! they do not come with a hood seal to stop the elements from entering the engine compartment thus the rusted hood front and latch. this is very dangerous and i dont think the consumer should pay for new hoods when the trucks donot come with the proper protection! | |||

| After putting the drivers window down at a fast food drive thru it would not go back up. this was in january, very cold in michigan. dealer said moisture must have gotten into switch and the whole module had to be replaced. i asked if that means the doors can't be opened when it was raining, he said yes they can but for some reason gm has a lot of drivers door window switches going bad on the trailblazers. the cost to have it replaced was $430 which we paid seeing how only the dealer can program the new switch. it's now one year latter and the same switch has gone bad again, i called the dealer but were over the 12,000 mile warranty. it will cost another $430 to replace again. | |||

| I have been smelling gasoline in and around my vehicle for about a year. one mechanic told us to replace the gas cap, which we did in november 2012. it didn't help. now we are being told that the gas tank needs to be replaced which will cost hundreds of dollars. i am very concerned for the safety of my grandchildren that i pick up from school.. | |||

| Was making a lane change on perfect road conditions when the back end of the trailblazer started shaking uncontrollably. veered into the median and was about to drive into on coming traffic. cranked hard on the steering wheel to the right to avoid traffic and rolled the vehicle 4 times. | |||

| Summary: multiple gauges on the instrument panel are malfunctioning. the tachometer is reading 5,000 rpm when the vehicle was in park, and 7,000 rpm when going 15 mph. when i turn the car off the gauge sits at 2,000. the speedometer is clicking up (not a smooth transition to the correct speed). and it showing a lesser spead then i am going. when i turn the car off the speedometer shows it is going 10 miles per hour but will slowly drop down to zero. both of these malfunctions could are a huge safety concern. i had to pull over on the highway while the instrument panel was showing 7,000 rpm, afraid i was going to break down and ruin my car. | |||

| Speedometer, generator gauge, and oil pressure gauge stopped working over three years ago. i checked for a recall but was told there was not one on this model. i was told there were recalls for other chevrolet vehicles, and kept waiting for a notice regarding the trailblazer. i am worried now the fuel gauge will stop working. the mileage is now at almost 81000 miles. the speedometer and other gauge issues create a very hazardous problem, and is detrimental to the safety of me and my children / other passengers. i would like to be notified of a recall notice. | |||

| We were driving on the wi interstate system when the rear spoiler detached and flew onto the roadway leaving the break light dangling and banging into the hatched window. due to road conditions and snow on the concrete divided median i wasn't able to stop and pick up the debris. the back gate hadn't been opened for at least 2 days so there was no way to know this was going to happen. | |||

| The passenger side exhaust manifold cracks. once manifold cracks exhaust fumes make there way into the cabin of the car. also the extra heat causes wires to melt and could be a possible fire hazard. after researching the failed part i have realized it is an extremely common problem with the trailblazers and gm has done nothing to correct this failing part | |||

| While driving, the speedometer will rise and fall erratically. i have been told by my mechanic that the instrument cluster is bad and needs to be replaced. upon internet research, i have found this is a common problem with gm truck and suv models in the years 2003-2006. trailblazer is the only model that gm has not covered in a recall for this part malfunction. how can it be safe to drive and not know what speed i am traveling at? i have an appointment with chevrolet tomorrow. they will not fix the problem until their technician can diagnosis it...and charge me an extra $99.00, even though the problem has all ready been diagnosed by certified, experienced mechanic. at the time this first occurred, the speedometer registered 115 mph; my husband estimates he was driving 25-30mph. | |||

| My instrument cluster malfunctions on a regular basis. the speedometer tachometer and gas gauge all go crazy and register information that is no where near accurate. the speedometer says 60 when sitting still, and gas gauge needle is at 5:00 when there is a half tank. if you start the vehicle and quickly turn it off enough times, the gauges will eventually get back to normal for a few miles,. then go back to strange numbers and process has to begin all over again, don't know if the temp gauge is accurate or not. | |||

| I am filing a complaint .and will continue to file complaints until all of the consumers issues have been addressed. i understand that gm is not willing to hold theirselfs liable for these issues ,but people spend pretty pennies out of pocket to purchase vehicles from these manufacturers to spend more money to pay for repairs after just a short while of owning these . i have researched issues i am having with my vehicle , and i am having all the above listed issues , and do not wish to spend large amounts of money to pay for these cost considering i am still paying for this vehicle . i just spoke with a representive about these complaints ,and have set up an appoinment to pay a dealership for diagnostics , but am hoping that i can get closure on these issues without paying big expenses. i hope everyone else will follow suit and keep inputting your complaints until they are resolved. my vehicle issues are the fan clutch needs replaced, my gas tank has been replaced already,just replaced my serpintine belt this morning, my exterior lights (brake/turn signal) have been replaced 3 times over two months, and engine light keeps coming on , something doesnt seem right underneath this vehicle either. i just feel like i am paying for a peice of junk on top of paying to keep the vehicle running. oh yea this vehicle has had to have thousands of dollars of body work done as well thanks to mother nature. i just hope they will be responsible enough to take on this responsibilty of theirs ,not ours. | |||

| 2003 chev trailblazer. mileage is 95,000, speedometer shows misleading info, first started reading about 20 mph over actual speed, over the past month has increased, now at full stop reads about 100 mph, then when vehicle is moving the needle is pointed straight down, past 120 mph. | |||

| The problem is this. i went to go somewhere at 5 am it was 44 degrees and raining. a light came on that said ice on the roadway another light came on that said engine power reduced so here i am going under 5 miles per hour on the freeway. its 44 degrees and no ice. it has been doing this every since i bought it new in 2003. i have told them every time i take it in for a lube and oil change but they ignore me because they do not know how to fix it. | |||

| 2003 chevy trailblazer 2wd, ltz - instrument panel is failing. began with the speedometer, which does not accurately reflect the correct speed 100% of the time. now, the oil gauge is not working properly and the fuel gauge is off as well. i checked with chevrolet directly (800 222 1020) and was told that there is not a recall for this issue. however, for the same years, the silverado, avalanche were recalled! if it's an issue across chevy trucks, then the trailblazer should be recalled as well. | |||

| Speedometer on my 2003 chevy trailblazer does not calibrate to zero when starting vehicle. this is causing erroneous speedometer display when operating the vehicle causing serious safety issues. i have read several other complaints of the exact issue. a recall should be issued to correct the problem while the number of deaths reported for this issue is still 0. does someone need to die before the problem is addressed? | |||

| We have a 2003 chevy trailblazer that the speedometer went out on. it was diagnosed as a cluster that needs to be replaced at almost 600.00 i told gm in case# 71-859421919 that an independent mechanic diagnosed it but they made us go spend 96.00 on a gm dealership to diagnose it and then 3 hours later tell us so sorry, we know there are a lot of comp;lints but there is no bulletin o recall on this so we cant do anything. a speedometer should no go out on a car, no matter how many miles and if it is not an isolated instance, there needs to be a recall. | |||

| Fan clutch- sounds like an airplane taking off until rpm is up then clutch disengages and sounds normal again. i've seen alot of complaints regarding this problem, but still no recall! why not????? | |||

| My 2003 chevy trailblazer's speedometer does not work. thought i was going 65mph on the highway and other cars were zipping past me turned out i was only going 51 mph. i pulled over and stopped and the speedometer was just stuck on 51. i looked on-line to see if anybody had, had similar problems and to my surprise there were 100's if not 1000's of complaints for the same problems. contacted chevy and they said it was not a safety hazard, how can not knowing your exact speed all the time not be a safety hazard??? granted there were no incidents but eventually something will happen, not to mention the fact that not knowing your speed could cause you to get pulled over by the police. it will cost consumers between 400-600 dollars to fix, when it is a manufactures defect, to whom we the taxpayers just bailed out. chevy should rectify this problem as they have with the same problem for other models. they know the problem but since there are so many complaints they do not want to cover the costs. what happens if you think you are going 55 mph and actually going 70? could be alot of problems | |||
