Started up truck to warm up after about 3 minutes heard bang and both front airbags had deployed for no reason. prior to this had issue with intermittent dash board lights (battery, speed odometer, seatbelt and airbag lights) being on. gm refuses to cover because i did not take to dealer. i took it to my local mechanic instead who could find no issue other than corroded grounds. currently it is being repaired by my insurance company. *tr

I was driving a chevy trailblazer rented from hertz on december 29, 2004. on highway 285 near mile marker 189.5, i encountered black ice on a curve. the vehicle started a 4-wheel drift into the oncoming lane. i attempted to avoid colliding with another vehicle that had spun out. the abs did not work. there was no stability control. i struck an embankment and the vehicle flipped over. although there was both frontal and side impact, no airbags deployed. it is my belief that the chevy trailblazer is inherently unsafe. there is no way this vehicle should have rolled over at the speed at which i was driving. *nm

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 chevrolet trailblazer. the contact stated that the instrument panel has not worked since she purchased the vehicle brand new in january of 2004. the warning indicators are constantly illuminated. she took the vehicle to the dealer several times while it was under warranty, but they could not locate the failure. due to the failure, she does not know how fast she is driving, how much fuel is in the vehicle, and cannot read the odometer. recently, the headlights failed and she took the vehicle back to the dealer. the dealer charged $91 to diagnose the failure, which produced a failure code at the headlight low beam relay cluster switch. the dealer replaced the low beam relay switch and ignition switch, but the failure persisted. now that the vehicle is out of warranty, the dealer has finally located a diagnostic code for the instrument panel failure. the dealer stated that the instrument panel cluster failed and would cost $600 to repair. the failure mileage was 9,000 and current mileage was 68,000. updated 4/14/09 *cn the air bag light illuminated. updated 04/17/09. *jb
