| In december 2011 my rpm gauge stop working. i did some research and found that there are several complaints about the same problem with the 2004 chevy trailblazer. then, on december 7,2012 my speedometer stop working and now all the other gauges are starting to malfunction. there are recalls on this same problems for 2005 and 2006 trailblazers. gm didn't issue a recall on the 2004 chevy trailblazers. i filed a compliant with the attorney general's office against general motors. a representative from general motors called and said there was not anything that they could do, because the vehicle has met its life expecties. they will not doing anything because my vehicle is over 100,000 miles. he basically told me that once the vehicle reaches 100,000 miles that general motors does not stand behind their product. | |||

| While driving on the freeway with my family the speedometer and tach stopped working. we have been calling gm to find a solution with no results. i have come to realize that i am one of many with this same issue with their 2004 trailblazer. we cannot understand how gm can say that this is not a safety issue when this puts our children and families in danger when ever they are in a vehicle that is not producing accurate feedback concerning our speed and performance of the vehicle. | |||

| I have the same problem that an earlier blogger as, all my gauges are stuck, the speedometer is stuck, the oil gauge stuck, gas gauge stuck, i think gm needs to take control of their problem and correct it, not just say it's not a problem they will not fix. there needs to be a recall for this problem pin the trailblazer trucks. | |||

| Love the vehicle except the fact all my gauges stick.... gm had told me this has to be safety issue in order to be recalled... i'm pretty sure not knowing how fast i am going on the highway is a saftey issue... especially with little children in the car. this is unacceptable. i refuse to pay for a defect that is happening in many gm vehicles... if i can find all the complaints i'm sure gm can as well. how do we get gm to fix these problems and try to keep customers???? | |||

| The stepper motors in the instrument cluster have failed. this is an extremely common problem and people are now making a living off of charging for the repairs because gm is refusing to issue a recall. | |||

| One day when i was driving i stopped my vehicle and the speedometer read 60 mph at a standstill. as i continued to accelerate it increased until it reached well past 120 mph. each time the vehicle is stopped the speedometer sometimes goes back but never to 0. the rpm does not function at all, and not sure when that stopped working. the speedometer did fix itself and then started again a month later. the second time is when the problem started with the rpm not functioning. i have seen multiple incidents with people complaining of these same issues and have saved the issues. i contacted the dealer and they are stating that this is not a manufacturers defect and stated it is $300 to replace a internal fault in the dash cluster. this is what i was told by someone in the service department at a chevrolet dealership. | |||

| When i first purchased this vehicle i thought i had a great suv. little did i know that within the first month of owning it did i make a huge mistake. i am a single mother of 2 kids. i checked out the crash ratings and they were great!! i liked everything about my tb. looking back, after the 4th problem within that first month. i should have ran away screaming from it, as i do now daily. the lights flicker when you drive at night. the headlights constantly go out. the check gauges light is constantly coming on. the oil pressure gauge drops for no apparent reason. the tach goes crazy. the bell for the lights (when you have the keys out and the lights are still on, or when you have the keys in and the drivers door open) works when it wants to. the battery guage works when it feels like it. the gas guage hasn't had a problem lately. i am wondering...doesn't all of that constitue as a safety problem?? i have had the lights looked at and am told there isn't anything that can be done..really?? i am going to have to have the guages looked at now and from what i see it will cost about $600-$800. where other chevy vehicles have had this covered under a recall. there are many other problems i've had, the o2 sensor, temp guage, other lighing issues that i have taken care of but this is getting to be a bit much. i see many others have had this problem. it can't be from normal wear on the vehicle. please do something about this before someones family really gets hurt, if they haven't already. | |||

| Dashboard gauges on our 2004 trailblazer have been failing one by one. no gauges except the speedometer have been operable for many months. now, on friday 11/11/11, the speedometer stopped working! this is a serious problem. i believe it must be caused by the same issues as the identical well-publicized problems on other trailblazers. in addition, some of the dashboard lights (seatbelt light, etc.) ramain on almost all the time. chevrolet should be reponsible for immediate repairs at no cost to us, the owner. thank you. | |||

| Gas gauge jumps around... especially when fuel is low. sometimes at it's lowest, it will show half a tank. now that my wife drives this suv with my 7-month old son, it is particularly worrisome. | |||

| Failure of the gauge cluster on a 2004 chevy trailblazer currently with 59,300 miles. about june 2009 the tach continually read incorrectly. dealer tried to mislead me to bring it in for a diagnosis at a cost of approx. $100 i told them its broke why should i pay for a diagnosis. i had read about the problem on -line at edmunds,com.,my suv had 41,000 to 42,000 miles on it. in july 2010 my gas gauge started to occasionally malfunction, now jan. 2011 it is incorrect. in nov. 2010 my charging gauge started malfunctioning. i also have since read online of the same problem on other similar year gm trucks ans suv and they have recalls on them. its just a matter of time for the speedometer gauge to read incorrectly. please help, these malfunctions are not safe.. | |||

| In 2008, one day i started my vehicle and noticed the oil gauge indicator did not register. that day i continued driving without the gauge operating. later that week i took it a mechanic, who instructed me to take it to the dealer. he suspected that it was the instrument panel. i did not take it to the dealer, because it was not major. however, in later months the tachometer failed. in 2010 i did some research on the instrument panel on the chevy trailblazer and found many accounts of failure by others. i also want to mention that the gas gauge has failed on occasion. currently, my tachometer and oil gauge does not work. i along with other drivers want chevrolet to take responsibility for the failure of their product, which they know does not operate as it should. | |||

| We purchased a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer in 2007. beginning in 2008, our instrument cluster began to fail, starting with the speedometer. at times, the speedometer showed 15 to 20 mph slower than actual speed, resulting in unsafe and unlawful speeds. the cluster then failed in the fuel sensor and oil pressure sensor areas, and has not worked in over 2 years. when gm was contacted, they indicated they had not received any complaints about the issue. however, when looking online at forums and other resources, and talking with gm/chevrolet dealer mechanics, this problem is widespread and common, resulting in expensive repair bills and in cases giving vehicle owners no choice but to drive an unsafe vehicle due to not having the resources to get the factory defect repaired. | |||

| My voltmeter on the gage cluster doesnt work. it appears to work when the car is started and jumps to 12-14 volts but slowly moves down to zero and stays there no matter what i do to try and make it move. if i do not know the voltage i am running i wont be able to quickly resolve any problems should there be any serious problem that would show through my voltmeter. | |||

| Yesterday my speedometer needle started jumping between numbers rather than moving smoothly. today it stopped working completely, it stayed below the 0 and wouldn't register the speed at all. i stopped at a chevy dealership on the way into work and was told the instrument cluster had to be replaced at my cost of about $400. driving away from the dealership the speedometer started moving slowly (i was going around 55 mph but the speedometer showed 15 - 20 mph.) when i got to work i ran an internet search and found that this is a recall for chevy trucks but not for trailblazers. also found numerous complaint sites with consumers reporting the exact same issue (model year and mileage varied.) obviously this is a widespread issue and should be addressed by a recall from gm. this presents a safety hazard as most consumers don't have the money for the repair cost so they aren't fixing the faulty speedometers which could lead to accidents and fatalities. | |||

| Horn has intermittent issues of working - we have taken to the dealership on several occasions and then it works. they do not want to take apart the steering wheel assembly to research the problem regardless of the number of times we have had the vehicle to the dealership. now that the warranty is expiring, i am sure the problem will be researched since it will be at our cost. the horn only seems to work when the car is first started and the steering wheel is moved shapely. since it is under the air bag, the dealership doesn't want to deal with it. *tr | |||
