Gauge cluster inaccurately displays fuel level, oil pressure and temperature. occurs daily.

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer. in the last few months the blower for my air/heat/defrost has been acting up. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. just recently in the last few days it stopped working completely. i can't use my defrost to clear my windows or use my air or heat. i was told the resistor and harness (which starts to melt and burn) is causing the blower not to work. i checked with mechanics and on line and there isn't a recall on the resistor and/or harness. there are a lot of compalints and was told that it is happening in all chevys.

When my mileage on my 2005 chevy trailblazer was approximately 50,000, the fuel gauge suddenly stopped working and reads that there is an empty tank despite being filled to capacity. from my understanding, this is a systemic fault with the fuel sending unit in the 2005-06 chevy trailblazer models that has the potential of putting consumers at great risk due to the potential of running out of gas on expressways, highways, etc. and, as a result of an unexpected loss of mobility, being unnecessarily subject to imminent personal harm from other vehicles. i have lodged a personal complaint with gm and understand that they are aware of this defect in the fuel sending unit as being a system problem, but have failed to issue any voluntary recall of the part. due to the individual cost of approximately $800 for a consumer to procure this repair (which almost always seems to occur when these vehicles have surpassed 40,000 miles and are therefore outside of the warranty period), i believe it is very likely that a sufficient number of those consumers affected by this part failure, especially in the current economic climate, will be financially unable to afford the cost of repairing this defective part on their own and will, accordingly, be suject to unnecessary and substantial risk given the potential for them to find their vehicles out of gas without any warning whatsoever. moreover, the potential for collisions due to the sudden deceleration or stranded vehicles on the roadways also poses a substantial threat to other drivers that is entirely unecessary and extremely dangerous.

I have a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer with what appears to be a faulty gas gauge. the gas gauge suddenly stopped working in late-2010 and now remains on 'e' most of the time, regardless of how much gas is in the tank. although infrequent, the needle has at times began to jump from 'e' to in between a 1/4-1/2 tank. the consequences of this failure are that i have to closely monitor my mileage at all times, reset the mileage each time i refill my gas tank, and notify any persons other than myself that drive my vehicle that the gas gauge does not function properly. nothing has been done to correct the failure as the part is quite expensive, i do not feel a gas gauge should break so easily on a 2005 vehicle, and i am hoping the vehicle will eventually be recalled for this specific piece of equipment as i know several other people having a chevrolet trailblazer who have encountered this same problem.

Speedometer freezes and won't move at all or it goes up to 120 mph. this is really dangerous when driving especially on the highway!

Speedodometer on the 2005 trailblazer. it went crazy on me at about 60,000 miles and after taking it to the dealership, they informed me there was a recall on the chevolet trucks with that problem, but not the suv's, even though the equipment was the same. the cost to me is $500+ which as a retired person on low income i cannot afford. i have received 2 tickets for going over the speed limit....even though i am extremely careful and try to drive with the flow of traffic. i am furious....chevolet should recall this and pay to have the problem fixed...it is a defect as i have seen numerous compliants about this with the chevolet trailblazer.

 Faulty speedometer
07/06/201069000
I own a 2005 trailblazer that i am having a problem with the speedometer that at certain times will either stop working or read incorrectly (either over or under) the speed of what the truck is actually doing. my wife drives this vehicle and i'm concerned about her driving it and gm is saying that it will cost around 500 or more to repair, but yet they have a recall for the 03-04 but not the 05 or newer, why? what can be done to get this situation repaired since they definitely have a faulty product??

The speedometer to my 2005 chevy trailblazer fell below zero and my actual rate of speed was incorrect. it was raining when it happened, but i noticed that i was passing people easily on the interstate at only going around 55 mph. i thought that people were overreacting to the rain afterall it was just a shower. but when i slowed down to an exit ramp i noticed that i was at zero mph while still rolling at i guess 30 mph. i must have been doing 85-90 mph before and i just felt ill that i was going so fast and could have easily been fined or worse hydro planed in the rainy conditions. i read up on this issue with alot of gm products and especially with the trail blazer models. my trail blazer has less than 65,000 miles and is well maintenanced, so such a failure has nothing to do with any neglect. please investigate and makes sure that this common malfunction doesn't cost someone their health or lives. thanks

Speedometer, oil pressure guage and volt meter stick, drop to lowest point or surge to highest point. speedometer will stick at one speed or stick and then only move up from that point. i have no idea what speed i'm traveling when this happens. it happens most often when it rains and will remain inaccuarte for a several days. not knowing how fast you are going is dangerous.

I own a 2005 chevy trailblazer, recently my speedometer started acting crazy, now it either works or it doesnt, sometimes it says your at 0 or sometimes it says your going 120 mph, sometimes it sticks on 70 mph!!! i feel this should be a very important recall,

2005 chevrolet trailblazer. instrument cluster has intermittent failure of speedometer and tachometer. has been happening for several years, gm wants $600 to replace cluster. instrument cluster has been recalled on every other gm vehicle that uses this cluster.

The intrument cluster panel in my 2005 chevy trailblazer is severly out of whack! it started about a year ago when my speedometer told me i was going 90 mph when i was actually going about 50 mph. it eventually corrected itself, but now it goes out every so often without warning. since the time when the speedometer 1st went out, my oil gauge is completely pegged out and will not correct itself, the battery gauge comes and goes, as well as the temperature gauge. i have been reading forums about this problem with trailblazers all over the u.s. and it seems that there should be a recall to have the cluster panel corrected because it is an obvious problem with the gm trailblazers. if you ask me, i believe it can be a serious safety hazard when you are uncertain as to how fast you may or may not be driving. i have read where a lot of people have had their gas gauge go completely out as well. mine tried to quick working for me only one time, but corrected itself within 24 hours. let's hope it doesn't go out like the oil gauge has and the fluctuating speedometer.

Speedometer on my 2005 was acting up and then stopped working all together...this is a safety issue. and it is amazing to me how many people have complained about this, and nothing is being done with this problem. my husband has a 2005 chevy impala and his speedometer stopped working and his gas gauge. why is this continuing with chevrolet...someone needs to put a stop to this nonsense. oh...and by the way i have already had the cluster replaced just 2 years ago because of a winding noise and then a year later it acts up...hmmm...did they really replace it? take a look at this website for more complaints: http://www.carcomplaints.com/chevrolet/trailblazer/2005/electrical/speedometer_gone_haywire.shtml

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer lt and live in birmingham, al. on my way home from church on a sunday morning, i encountered a severe issue with my speedometer. as i was driving up on a police officer i looked at my speedometer, which said i was doing 70 so i began slowing down but my speedometer didn't - it continued to go up. i started hitting my brakes thinking that would make the speedometer go back down but it didn't. as i pulled off the interstate and stopped at a red light, the speedometer kept going up to 110 mph. then as the light turned green, i started again and the speedometer went straight to the bottom facing the floor. i thought when i get home and turn the car off, the speedometer would reset itself. well ... it didn't!! i don't know what i'm going to do now! the economy is so !@#$% bad that i'm in the middle of a foreclosure and now this crap happens! gm should recall this faulty issues as it is a dangerous situation. if you don't know how fast you are going ... how the !@#$% do you drive without a speedometer unless you are looking to get in trouble by the law!! *tw

My 2005 trailblazer instrument panel constantly fails - the speedometer stops working which is a safety issue. the gas gauge has been fixed once already and is now broken again. the vehicle has power surges which is another safety issue. the transmission shifts the car up and down when trying to slow down causing power surges. this is another safety issue. the following are other issues which this model vehicle: stereo cd player stopped working, the check engine light comes on when the gas cap light, the lights flicker also. i ought this vehicle used and with a cracked front bumper which the dealer didn't fix (dealer stuck a little bondo on area and repainted it so i thought it was a new bumper when i accepted the car after repair. it cracked in a matter of days) and i know this was caused due to the surges in power. a severe safety issue. the vehicle has serious electrical problems the chevrolet should stand behind and fix. it is not fair to the consumer. i have checked the web and have read many, many other similar complaints. chevy owners should fill a class action lawsuit against chevrolet if they don't do a recall and fix these problems. i experience a fender bender accident when my vehicle didn't stop and bumped another cars back bumper causing an accident and an insurance claim. i am fed up with this vehicle but can't afford to replace it. *tr linda vanauken

Turned vehicle on and found a/c blower not working and abs and brake light come on. blower will come on intermittently when the bas / brake light goes out. i am concerned that if there is a short in the system there could be a fire. chevrolet should be taking care of this concern for the owners. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. since purchasing the vehicle, the headlamps flicker or dim while driving, similar to a power surge. the dealer was initially unable to duplicate the failure. when the failure was able to be duplicated, the dealer was unable to make a repair. at the end of september of 2007, the steering column made a sparking sound and the dealer could not duplicate the failure once more. on september 20, 2007, the radio and all the components on the instrument panel failed intermittently. the vehicle had to be turned off and restarted for them to eventually operate again. in addition, the dome lights would remain illuminated. the driver's side door latches were replaced twice. the rear hatchback latch was replaced twice. when the key was removed from the ignition, the key buzzer would continue to sound. on january 25, 2008, the rear wiper motor was replaced and failed again on march 4, 2008. the current mileage was 36,182 and failure mileage was 70. updated 4/2/08 *cn the consumer stated the emblem on the rear tailgate loosing color, brake pads and rotors are worn. updated 04/02/08 *tr

In march 2007 the check engine light came on and stayed on . i took vehicle to dealer to have it checked out. it turned out to be the secondary air pump either clogged, not running or something electrical with it. ever since then all the exterior and interior lights became bright then dimmed for a few minutes when i start the vehicle. after leaving for work and stopping the vehicle to turn, and then again a few miles down the road, the headlamps started to flicker. sometimes it flickered a few more times before i got to work , only 25 minutes from home. i have noticed the battery gauge fluctuated while this is happened. i was told that this was normal. also, i am not sure this was related, but ever since the check enginelight problem the air conditioning system did not work properly. it didn't work on 5, but it did blow some on the other levels, and that varied too. i have had the air conditioning recharged, to no avail, it acted like there was a leak somewhere. hopefully ,gm or someone else will find the solution before there was an electrical fire or even a case of road rage due to other drivers thinking i wa s flashing the bright lights at them. *ak
