Crashed straight into the back end of a vehicle doing 60 while i was doing atleast 80, or 85, maybe more, i don't remember. the first thing i remember seeing is realizing i'm alright despite the blood in the cockpit and on my face despite sneezing which was spreading blood. is this a vehicle defect or what? my math says that crashing at 85mph into a vehicle doing 60 is like crashing into a brick wall at 25mph. i've had a local mechanic check it out and he says according to his obd-ii computer everything is working fine (or was atleast) :) anyways, please feel free to contact me again with any more question you may have.  Door locks repeatedly locked and unlocked, then cascading failures, anti-lock light, engine light, other warning lights. engine started to run rough and would not make power, engine quit. note transmission gear indicator read incorrectly. disconnected battery, and reconnected, engine started got me home. three occurrences that the engine just quits. it will restart after a few minutes. mechanic could not find anything wrong. had another occurrence, mechanic found a code indicating the ecm may be bad. he tells me this should have noting to do with the door locks. the door locks latch and unlatch, uncommanded. engine stops when under power. mechanic has no course of action at this time. *tr

At approximately 11:00 am just after parking the vehicle in an inclined home driveway and after turning the engine off for 2-3 minutes and with the automatic transmission in the park position, the vehicle on its own started to roll down the concrete driveway and into the residential street. no one was injured or run over, though the potential was great since my wife and i were both unloading the car from the rear side doors and the tailgate, but we were neither in the doorways or behind the vehicle. apparently the park transmission lock failed or became disengaged - a serious defect. the vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the street. i restarted the car and have driven it over 100 miles without incident since yesterday. i have used the park position without incident since that time, though i have not parked the vehicle on an inclined surface.

I have been hearing a clicking noise and my car had begun sounding like a jet engine taking off for the last 3 days - very noisy. i took it to pep boys where i was told that it is normal for the trailblazer to begin making this noise shortly after 60k miles. i was told the serpentine belt needed to be replaced, tensioner pulley and the idler pulley. i had the new parts installed. none of my warning lights came on the dashboard so i assumed was well as there was no other indication that something was wrong. driving my car within 24 hours of being fixed, the fan clutch seized and my water pump burst causing car to overheat in the middle of an intersection where my car then stalled putting me and my children at risk for injury. the car almost caught on fire it was smoking severely. someone helped me move my car out of the busy intersection and i called my husband and a tow truck to come get the car. when i got home and looked up the problems again on the dealer website, i found hundreds of forums where the fan clutch has been mentioned and the water pump too. a fan clutch according to the mechanics i surveyed stated they should last at least 100k or more. this has been brought to gm and they ignore it. it is a safety issue. additionally, my speedomter hasn't worked for at least a year and when i called chevy they wanted to charge me $700 to replace it when it is not my issues. i didn't cause it. not knowing what speed you are going is definitely a safety hazard and can cause accidents or tickets.i am attaching a forum (this is just one of hundreds i found online)http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/trailblazer/2004/consumer-discussions.html where people are having the same safety issues i am and gm has ignored them. my car could have caught on fire today and i had my 4 yr old daughter with me. not a position i ever want to be in. please issue a recall.

After doing some research i am encountering a problem that seems to be out there a lot. i have a 2005 trailblazer and my forward gear stopped working at 80k miles. i think is a much too new car to encounter a transmission failure. there is obviously a problem when i have read pages and pages of this same issue. gm has to step in and tell me something my dealer estimate this to cost me a min. $3,200.00 in this economy or any that is a large expense to encounter with no warning or previous problems. i hope the gm will have some answers and do the right thing! this happened to me on the van wyke expressway in rush hour many of us could have been hurt or killed! thank you *tr

Had to have transmission replaced (a whole other sick story:( ). when i got my truck back, second day on the freeway, the speedometer started to climb even though i was staying with the flow of traffic. i twent around to the 100s. when i got home it spun straight down not stopping at the zero like it normally did. took it back to mechanic at least twice maybe 3 times, he did something that fixed it for a few days, but then it would mess up again. as it is right now, it is parked but saying it's at 100+ mph. reading other peoples same problem, it will cost too much for me to pay the dealer to fix. i have even gotten a speeding ticket because of this (my first in 20 years!)!!! *tr

The transmission shifted hard from first to second gear. *nm the transmission shifted so hard that it almost jerked the steering wheel out of the consumers hands. the second concern was when the consumer had to place the rear seat down to place items in the back , it required that the front seat be moved forward and would not go all the way back again. the last concern was that the vehicle could not use tire chains due to the fact that there wasn't enough clearance and the consumer was informed to use another traction device. *sc

Transmission cooler lines are corroded and leaking fluid all around the front passenger side wheel well. these lines will need replaced before the transmission fails. the frame is soaked with transmission fluid and this is a potential fire hazard if the fluid leaks onto the exhaust or catalytic converter.

2005 chevy trailblazer. bought the vehicle used in 2008 with only 33868 miles on it. have 78158 on vehicle now and last month had to have the radiator replaced and transmission rebuilt. the place that did the repairs told me he gets about 3-5 trailblazers a year with the same problem. he had 2 folks call about the same issue while mine was on the rack. seems the radiator develops a small leak in the system that cools the trans and causes the transmission to fail. had no real issues until last month when vehicle would not come out of 3rd gear. could put auto transmission in to 1 or 2 and then be able to take off from dead stop and shift into drive to get the vehicle home and then to shop. have looked online to see if there was a recall on this issue and there has not, but appears there have been other complaints about this issue. total cost for vehicle repair was $2,814.17

Went to dealer for vehicle inspection and oil change on my 2005 chevrolet trailblazer. was told that the sensors are indicating that there is moisture getting into my transmission due to a issue with the dip stick not sealing properly. was told it would cost $192.00 (parts and labor) to repair. that it is not covered under warranty. however, i was told that if my transmission did go out due to this problem, and my vehicle was still under the warranty, that the warranty would cover a new transmission. doesn't make sense that if there is a defect in such a minor part as the dip stick seal, why the warranty wouldn't cover the repair.

I have a 2005 chevrolet trailblazer with 75,000 miles on it. with no warning, my transmission went out. the car is well cared for and regularly serviced. our local dealership explained that i had no power train warranty, and that they do not repair the transmission. the cost to me for a new transmission would be $2720.31.

We were driving on i-85 in virginia with cruise control on when the engine started racing. we limped into a service station at the next exit to have the trailblazer looked at. we only had 1st and 2nd gear remaining on our transmission and had to have the suv towed to the next major city and spend the night until the dealership opened on monday. the end result is that the transmission failed at less than 64,000 miles. i was told by the dealership that the transmission housing essentially disintegrated and there were a lot of metal fragments inside the housing which were a major factor in the transmission failing. this level of catastrophic failure of a major drive train component should not occur at so low a mileage. we, as the consumer, were forced to pay $3200.00 for a new transmission. plus the costs of hotel rental and a rental vehicle to return home and missing work to address this issue.

My 2005 trailblazer instrument panel constantly fails - the speedometer stops working which is a safety issue. the gas gauge has been fixed once already and is now broken again. the vehicle has power surges which is another safety issue. the transmission shifts the car up and down when trying to slow down causing power surges. this is another safety issue. the following are other issues which this model vehicle: stereo cd player stopped working, the check engine light comes on when the gas cap light, the lights flicker also. i ought this vehicle used and with a cracked front bumper which the dealer didn't fix (dealer stuck a little bondo on area and repainted it so i thought it was a new bumper when i accepted the car after repair. it cracked in a matter of days) and i know this was caused due to the surges in power. a severe safety issue. the vehicle has serious electrical problems the chevrolet should stand behind and fix. it is not fair to the consumer. i have checked the web and have read many, many other similar complaints. chevy owners should fill a class action lawsuit against chevrolet if they don't do a recall and fix these problems. i experience a fender bender accident when my vehicle didn't stop and bumped another cars back bumper causing an accident and an insurance claim. i am fed up with this vehicle but can't afford to replace it. *tr linda vanauken

Normal driving, i noticed some liquid spots on the driveway. after inspecting, i found that the transmission oil cooling line is corroded through, leaking transmission fluid. my chevrolet trailblazer has less than 60000 miles and is 5 years old. one line is clean, the other is corroded beyond repair. transmission oil cooling lines have to be replaced. *tr

While driving on the highway, my truck rpm's began to rev, and i began to lose speed. my trailblazer would not shift out of second gear now. i discovered a leak into the transmission cooling line and replaced it. i've also changed the fluid and filter. after taking my truck to a local autozone for a code scan, which brought back no codes, i took the truck to my local dealer for a diagnosis. they charged me $105.00 to tell me that the truck wasn't throwing codes i already knew that! they told me that it was going to be approx. $800.00 just to pull the transmission apart to find the problem and $400.00 to put it back in. that doesn't include the cost of fixing it! after consulting with an ase certified mechanic, i changed the tcc (transmission clutch converter) solenoid to no avail. the problem still exists! gm will offer no assistance until i pay the dealer to disassemble the transmission, then there is a possibility that the fix will be covered. this vehicle has not done any towing and only has 56,600 miles on it! there is no reason for a transmission failure! *tr

I purchased a 2005 chevy trailblazer on 4/15/05 shortly there after i was having problems with a whining sound. i took it to a dealer and i was told that it was the ignition pulley. i contacted the corporate office of chevrolet to inquire about assistance with payment considering i was about 3, 000 miles over the warranty. after several calls chevrolet absorbed this cost. then in sept. of 2005, my husband totaled his car and i purchased a 2005 trailblazer for him. again this car began making similar noises and my husband was driving home with our 2 year old son and the car began smoking. my husband immediately pulled off the road and contact roadservice. once we took it to a mechanic he said that it was the ignition pulley which caused the transmission to die. we took it to a chevrolet dealership and they said that was the transmission. i contacted the corporate office once again and this time they would not offer any financial assistance. it seems that the dealership said that it was the result of an oil change that did not occur at the 3000. they, the dealership based this off of a sticker that was in the window of the car. when i went to look at the car they was no oil sticker in the window. despite that, i had contacted the chevy office about the same whining noise that i heard in my car (the ignition pulley) that my husband was experiencing in his car. this is still not resolved. we were told to fix this car it would cost $10,000.00, yes, for a new transmission. we have since towed to home in order to avoid storage fees. here sits a 2005 chevy trailblazer with approx. 50,000.00 and a new transmission is needed. we do not have the money to fix this and also pay the car note on it as well. as a read reports, this is a similar problem with many many trailblazers. there needs to be a recall on this vehicle for faulty transmissions!!!!! *tr

I own a 2005 chevy trailblazer and i have encountered numerous problems since purchasing this vehicle brand new from the dealer. i have had to have sensors replaced, fuel tank has had to be worked on, and now the main most costly is i am having to replace the transmission. this vehicle has approx. 84,000k miles on it and is only two years old. please help to see if this should have been a factory recall. i have always had my vehicle serviced at the dealer where i purchased it at. *tr

While driving i automatic transmission failed to work in the drive position. it was taken to dealer for repairs, where it was found that a complete failure of transmission occurred. the vehicle was safely stopped on the side of the road. their were no injuries, but under different circumstances this occurrence may have resulted in severe injury or death. the vehicle had only 51,653 miles at the time of the incident. the transmission was overhauled and the vehicle was returned 5 days later. the required first service of the transmission was not scheduled until 100,000 miles.*ak

I bought this suv to go off road, mostly riding in the sand on the beach. the first time on the sand it did not want to go and i thought my husband or i did something wrong. however the second time it went a short distance and then sank up to the axles and we had to have it towed off the beach. it was taken to the dealership and they could find nothing wrong with it, and acted like this was the first complaint on this problem, however my accountant has the same suv same year model and same problem, took it to the same dealership and was also told there was nothing wrong with his trailblazer. *jb

All of a sudden the transmission started to shift funny after a long road trip. it did this once on the highway. we got off the highway and pulled into our town and the car was having problems shifting. we barely made it to our house and the transmission was leaking. we went to drive it to the dealership and it over heated less than a mile from the house. we were told that the radiator deteriorated and sent anti-freeze into the transmission which destroyed the transmission. *jb

I parked a 2005 chevy trailblazer rented from budget rent a car in the hotel parking lot where myself and my fiance were checking in to. i removed the key from the ignition and went inside. approximately 30 sec later the car rolled down the hill in a large arc (due to the steering wheel being locked) and collided with another vehicle. the car was in neutral. at that point i put the key back into the ignition and found that the key could be removed while in neutral, which caused the car to roll. the police arrived and also were able to remove the key while it was in neutral. this is included in the police report. i was not cited since the police officer found the car to be defective. budget rent a car replaced the vehicle without question, however are now seeking me to pay for the damage, which is obviously being contested. *jb
