The fuel gauge has stopped working, my research shows that is a big problem, it shows empty all the time.

The suv would not start in october 2012. i was told i needed a new battery, so i bought one right away. i drive the suv very infrequently, maybe only 40 miles a week. on decmber 7, 2012 the headlights started to flicker while i was driving across the chesapeake bay bridge in maryland. this was very concerning because it was getting dark out. i drove directly to a friend's house, and when i tried to park the suv the lights would not turn off. even after manually trying to turn off the lights and removing the key from the ingnition, the lights would not turn off. finally the lights went out, but the battery was dead when i tried to restart the suv in the morning. we tried to charge the battery. this caused sparks by the fuse box and the lights inside the cabin began to turn off and on, even with the key out of the ignition. the headlights also started to flicker off and on and the doors locked an unlocked. i had the car towed back across the bridge to my local mechanic and was told i need a new battery. obviously the battery is not the issue. i would like to know what gm intends to do about the faulty wiring in these models and how they are going to correct the issues related to the recall notice i received in october 2012. the recall number is 12180 and i think this current problem is related to it. i received the notice and it states the parts are not avaibale at this time and to park the vehicle outside. i called and asked if it is ok to drive the suv and was told yes. since i must drive across a 5 mile bridge sereral times a week, i am concerned the truck will break down and cause an accident. i am also concerned a passenger or my pet dog could be injured.

I have had several problems with my power windows going up and down and then just not working at all. i smell smoke sometimes but can't locate the cause of the smoke. i have also had problems with the electrical connection to the radio, which also works sometimes but the majority of the time it does not work. i have had this problem for a long time now and need a resolution before my suv catches fire. i also have problems with the drivers side power door lock which works intermittantly-whenever it pleases. i recently started having problems with my rear wiper blade-turn it on and it moves a little then stops. my headlights dim up and down while driving...i have replaced the alternator and the battery and still don't have enought power for some reason-dealerships want to charge a lot of money just to diagnose when it appears that this is obviously a defect in the electrical system of the suv.

While attempting to get my son fromthe vehicle, the left rear passenger handle assembly pulled away from the door housing and into my hand. the linkage remained intact, so i pushed the handle back into place and luckily was able to open the door from the outside. upon borescope review, the mounting bracket to which the handle fastened was so badly corroded that it disintegrated when i closed the door and dropped to the bottom of it. mind you now that this corrosion took place inside the door housing as the door handle assembly is not sealed whatsoever from the exterior elements (and gm wonders why the recent door.window switch recall occurred). upon review of the right side rear passenger door, i noticed the same rust staining below that handle (vehicle is white, so contrast is good) so it is likley only a matter of time before that fails as well. i contacted chevy, was assigned a case number & took the vehicle to the dealers for required assessment. was called the next day by chevy and told they are aware of the problem, however they could not offer any assistance due to the nature of the climate where i live (northeast). i questioned their rationale and asked them if they sold specific vehicles to ne customers - their reply was no. i again reiterated that the corrosion took place on the inside of the door, not the exterior - however the scripted response from csr was the same. i strongly urge nhtsa to investigate this problem further as it is a definitive safety issue in event of an accident in which my children would have to be rapidly extracted from the vehicle and the first responder is sitting there with a faulty handle in his hand. yes, they could break the window, but try telling a 1 & 3 year old to close their eyes and turn their head and see if compliance is attained!

A 2006 chevrolet trailblazer. the air conditioning unit, harness and the master switch on the drivers side window failed. the check engine light illuminated whenever the vehicle was turned off. the master switch malfunction prevented all the windows from working properly. only 1 speaker works radio plays at low volume.

Our trailblazer has the service engine light on and off constantly. had it checked by our regular mechanic with the tester and it read the thermostat needed replacing which was done. the light is still going on and off and having it rechecked the reading said a problem with the cooling fan. checked fan and nothing. the headlights go on and off. the windshield wipers come on by themselves and then off. when it is raining they only work on fast speed. the window cleaner comes on when the wipers due which is hazzardous when it is raining causing a visibility problem. i will be going to the dealer with the check engine light as we are going on a long trip in two weeks. didn't know there were so many problems with this vehicle as listed on the complaints section.

Transmission cooler lines corroded through and started leaking.

After a recent rainstorm, windows will not work from driver side window switch. windows will go down and come right back up. they now are working intermittently. sometimes they will go down and not come up, or go down and come right back up. very dangerous, especially with kids if they like to put their hands out the window while your driving and it goes up on them; it's possible they could get their hands stuck and cause serious injury.

Fuel guage intermittently displays incorrect fuel level causing vehicle to stall due to an empty fuel tank. guage may display full when empty, empty when full, or anywhere in between.

Fuel gauge does not read accurate. usually reads empty even when filled. bounces back and forth

Driver side speaker intermittently comes on (rarely). driver side window switch intermittently works. it used to intermittently fail, now it rarely works. occasionally, all the driver controls on the dashboard go dead and the radio doesn't work. the lock doesn't work. the abs light and traction control light always illuminate. this intermittent electrical problem has been one big headache and it all seems to point to the drivers side window switch which is under investigation for fires. there is a defect in these window switches and the owners of the vehicles should not be burdened financially because of this.

After taking my vehicle in for yearly inspection my mechanic informed me that the alternator bearings are bad and that it needs immediate repair. i was informed that this is serious because the vehicle may give me problems at any time without warning. this is extremly unsettling to me because i have to have a vehicle i can depend on to drive my husband to an out of town hospital at any given moment, and drive on an extremly busy highway.(the schuykill expressway) my mechanic stated that this is very unusual becuse the vehicle had less than 30,000 miles and this doesn't usually till at least 100,000 miles. another problem is the gas gauge has not worked for two years, again this is unsettling because of driving out of town at any time of day or night on a busy highway. general motors said they would pay half of the repair but why must i pay anything when it is apparent that the part they used was faulty.

Got into my 2006 trailblazer one morning and could smell burning. saw brown burn marks around the window and lock device on the driver side door. no components worked so i could not roll down the window, or work the mirrors. when the window/lock compartment was taken out it was melted from the bottom up like it had caught fire. burn marks on the outside as well as the inside of where the device goes. called gm regarding incident they stated that i could pay a service fee and take it to one of their dealers and if they thought the incident was caused by something they did they would fix it, but if they thought that it wasn't caused by them not only would i pay the service fee but i would also have to pay for the part and the labor at the dealer. asked them if they had notified the correct authorities regarding the safety of driver side window/lock control catching fire. they stated that they did. advised them that this is unsafe and that they should not treat their customers like this and i would be taking it to the next level because i do not have $75.00 for the service fee and another $350.00 for the part, plus labor if they decide this is not their fault. i now have left the melted part out of my car terrified that if i put it back in that it will continue to burn and catch a huge fire while im driving with my children in the car.

My gas gauge reads empty after i fill up with gasoline.

The fuel gauge was giving false reading saying empty when it was not or full when it was empty and sometimes in between. this cause the engine to stall when driving on a public road making it very hard to pull over and stop because the power steering and power brakes quit working. i have searched on this issue and it is a huge problem with trailblazers.

Our car was parked, the entire back hatch was open (not just the glass window) and i was unloading bags and boxes from car. the rear window exploded into tiny pieces of glass that rained down on me. getting imbedded in my head, back and arms. neighbors came running the sound was so loud. the car had not been involved in any kind of collision and there was nothing that hit the window. i had been to the vechicle several times since the door had been opened because i had lots of items to unload. now i have been noticing many other trailblazers that have missing components from the rear window leading me to think that their windows have had to be replaced also. had we been driving that day when this happened, with the force in which the glass flew, i am sure that the children in the back seat would have been hit with the glass.

Two weeks ago we put new tires on my trailblazer at 28,700 mi. we were leaving for a trip and took it to have the front end aligned to be sure the new tires wore properly. we did not go to our dealer as there was no time before the trip. upon checking the car, they discovered both my front struts were leaking badly and they no longer gave a firm ride. we had no choice but to have them replace both struts at only 28,700 mi. the repair shop was quite surprised that both struts were bad. my trailblazer is garaged, has extremely low mileage, is driven only on city streets or freeway and never carries any loads. even though we were past the 36 mo. portion of the warranty, the repair shop told us that they felt the struts should have lasted far longer than 28,700 mi. and that with the excellent care of my car, it was far too early for them to have to be replaced. i ck'd with some friends who had their cars for far longer than me and many more miles on it and they had never had any issue with struts. i decided to contact gm to file a complaint. they contacted me and the interviewer told me that she completely understood why i would be upset. however, today i was called and told that they would not help with any of the cost for replacement of the struts. my concern is for the safety of other people that own chevy vehicles with the same struts. we were told that we should not drive our car with the bad struts on the freeway because it was not safe. i want to file a formal complaint so that others can be made aware of the possible dangers of the struts failing at such an early mileage. i plan to contact whatever agencies necessary to make sure the public knows about the problem.

First - relay resistor module for manual heating/hvac...certain blower settings do not work in 2006 trailblazer. this same problem is a recall for 2004 chevy silverados. will this be a recall for the trailblazer as well? second - gas guages have failed and do not work. i know of 3 others that have the same problem, is there a recall on this?

The gas gauge on my 2006 chevy trailblazer read incorrectly. the problem just started happening. the car was being driven like normal and no work had been done on the car. the problem is still occuring because i don't have the $800 dollars i was told it would take to fix the problem other probem was noticed in december of 2010. the heater stopped working. prior to the heater stop working the blower stopped working on 5 then stopped working on 4 then it just completly stopped working. i pulled the blower motor resistor out of the carr and noticed that the connector to the blower motor resistor pack was melted to the connector. i removed some of the melted plastic and tried the heater again and one of the wires was glowing orange when the heater was running. i replaced the blower motor resistor and melted connector. on april 22, 2011 speed 5 on the blower stopped working. i pulled the blower motor resistor on april 27 2010. i noticed the same problem was starting to occur again. the two of the wires leading into the blower motor resistor were melted together. this car is not diven very far, putting less than 5,000 miles a year on it. is the melting wires a problem that i should worry about? is this car safe to let my wife drive with the kids in the back?

Fuel gauge shows random indication of fuel level. after filling the gas tank to full, the fuel gauge falls to empty and triggers the fuel light and dings. later on it will show a random indication of fuel level.

In a 2006 chevy trailblazer, the gas pedal sometimes does not work, concerned about pedal not working in an intersection or anywhere. took in for repair and was told computer has no report of it happening. don't know what is causing it and don't know how to fix. have heard several same situations but no fixes. very concerned for safety and my life and others.
