I bought this van around 2010,the mileage was around 60,000. the first thing i noticed was the light.i was pulled out by the police about my light.i went straight to auto zone and changed it.i have changed my bulbs more than twenty times.i got warnings.secondly, my remote control have been acting out.i changed the battery several times.it will work for only few hours and stop.i started locking my doors manually, only the passenger door is left to control the button. the worst experience that led me to file this report is the fuel tank and the steering wheel. my van had stopped more than twenty times without warning, each time i bought gas and it will start working. the last experience is still frightening to me. i was driving on a highway at 55m/hr my gauge was showing just below half tank, all of a sudden my van accelerated and sound went off,i immediately made a left turn on a green light to a street that went down the hill. i could not control my van no more,i turned off the key and it went to a stopped with a bang noice. fire fighters were around that area, they immediately rushed to help and suggested i buy gas which i did and my van started working again.i approached somebody using the same type of van,she said she experienced same issues several times. my daughter had an accident with this van once,i begin to wonder what might have caused it although she said another driver caused it and fled, now even if my gas is showing full tank i will make sure i still buy more.i am scared to give my van to my children to drive.i escaped accident more than four times because of the same issue.i don't drink, never smoke, i use my van mainly to work.recently the rod that holds the tyre don't know the name just broke into two without any reason.i was just trying to reverse and i noticed my van will not move.came down and i saw that. i just replaced my tail light few days ago.

I bought my uplander at dealership milage was at 24,000. the door would open and not close we finally got this fixed i hope. just yesterday at milage 45,000 we had to replace tie rod on passenger side. found out that it did not have grease pin on it called manufactor and they say someone had to have replaced it. i do not believe it had ever been replaced and this is what is causing tire wear and vibrations in the uplanders which also could cause accidents even deaths. also when driving all lights will go off until you hit brakes i have had diagnotics checked to see if anything would show up. nothing does. so this is a major concern also . there seems to be the same problems listed from almost everyone and some of these things could cost consumers their life or their families. while i like the uplander i am concerned that the safety issues are not being handled by manufactor and no one seems to care. what will it take to make this vehicle safe.

I have a 2006 chevy uplander lt and i started to have problems around 3,000 miles of ownership. it started with electrical issues (hard drive entertainment system, gas gauge, dimming lights, radio losing settings, hard starts, service abs, and service traction control) and gradually moved to mechanical issues (clucking noises ? front end, vibrations ? front end, steering binding, and grinding noises from the front end). what has been replaced in hopes of fixing the issues are the hard drive to the entertainment system, main computer module (twice and reprogrammed several times), steering column, steering box, rack and pinion, front stabilizing control arms, front brake, front rotors resurfaced, abs control module (never fixed the service abs and service traction control). the dealer still can?t explain the grinding noise and is trying to convince me that it is normal characteristics of the van (they actually wrote that in the service report). they can not resolve the service abs and traction control errors. they can?t resolve the hard starts. the dealer has taken a position that no more diagnostic work will be performed to the front end until i replace a cupped tire (their opinion). i have hired a lemon law attorney to help with my problem. *tr

This is in regards to claim #10242028 the mileage was closer to 9500 and we were referred to you through the attorney generals office in belling ham wa. i did receive a copy of there inspection report and they told a lie on hearing the noise it was not a quiet noise when you turned the vehicle left or right it would be very loud. we were told by the chevy dealer that it would be very unsafe to drive the car with the very same noise we left with off the lot. the issue is that i drove an unsafe car off there lot and it became more unsafe the more we drove it. the reason all of the other things went wrong on the car was a result of them not fixing what was wrong with it in the first place. they said the tires were wearing out because it was not properly maintained i don't believe this at all. i am very angry at them and i can't believe they can just get away with this. when i drove the van to seattle the other day the service t/c and service abs system lights were on all the way there i am afraid to drive the van and my wife is to. i truly hope there is something that can be done about this we paid $26,000 and we thought we were getting a fairly new reliable van that is what we paid for thank you for your help !!!! *tr

The drivers side trailing arm failed on my 2006 chevrolet uplander. as a result of this failure, my van was unable to be driven and required a tow to the shop. this vehicle had been involved in a rear end collision november 2010. the driver's side rear bumper and wheel area took the impact, and part of the motorcycle went under my van. we in live in phoenix, arizona where the climate is fairly dry, no salt on the roads, and no freeze/thaw. i do believe if we lived in a area that experienced more moist, freeze/thaw or exposed to salt this part would have failure sooner than 5 months after the accident. according to the insurance company, they do not feel the accident had anything to do with the part failing since i had my van back in my possession for approximately 5 months. they feel it is a failure of the part or defective part. the rear axle is being replaced as a result of this failure. our van is not a handicapped conversion van. upon visual inspection, there is no other indication of possible damage to the trailing arm that could have been cause be my running over something or hitting something as there is no undercarriage damage present or as the body shop owner said no other dents or dings that indicate damage to the vehicle since the accident.

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chevrolet uplander. the abs light illuminated and the contact took the vehicle to the dealer. she stated that the dealer did not inspect the vehicle, but only attempted to sell her another one. she took her vehicle to another mechanic and was informed that the front struts and rear shocks needed to be replaced, the rear tires were wearing and cupping badly, 25% remained on the front brake pads, 30% remained on the rear brake pads, and the rotors could not turn. the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer prior to the failures because the rear tires were making noise. the contact believes that the dealer knew something was wrong with her vehicle and waited for the warranty to expire. the current and failure mileages were 50,632.
