When shifting into reverse or drive it has a hard jolt when going into gear. sometimes it is so hard that it jerks your body and head/neck, and it sounds like the transmission is going to unbolt from under the car. it does it a couple times a day, and then may stop for a few days but always comes back. i have noticed on the days it is not doing it i average more mpg, and when it is doing it the mpg continuously decreases when it is occuring multiple days in a row. on the days that it is doing it my transmission sounds more whiny than than usual. i have also had issues when putting it into gear, and pushing the gas pedal it tries to stall. it is a problem, and not just the way those motors are. if it was just the way the motor is then it would do it every time you put it in gear, and not come and go and be much worse on some days than others. as time passes the jolting is getting worse and harder. also, my brakes make an awful squeeking/grinding noise when stopping slowly (stop sign) or backing up. when the car was checked i was told they could not find anything wrong with the car or brakes. this is very agrivating because it was bought brand new, and i am having these issues. i am making payments on a vehicle that is having these types of issues, and i do not feel safe in it. the way the transmissions acts i am afraid of what it may do while driving down the road. *tr

2011 chrysler 200. consumer writes in regards to brake problems. *smd the consumer stated when he started the engine to pull forward to get gas, the brake pedal went to the floor and the vehicle continued forward, so he pushed the pedal about three more times to the floor while he rolled to the pump bypass lane, turned parallel to the curb which separated the station bypass lane from the us highway and stopped with the emergency brake. as soon as he stopped, he put the transmission into park and then engine stalled. the consumer restarted the engine, and felt the pedal come back up. after testing it several times without further problems. in late november 2012, as the consumer headed out of a parking lot, the pedal went down to the floor twice. he quickly stopped with the emergency brake, leaned to the left of the steering wheel and saw the left end of the pedal protruding from the left side of his right shoe and the pedal was on the floor. also, the engine had stalled, when he tried to restart the engine, it stalled again. he made another attempt to start it again, at that point the brake pedal went back to normal.
