Purchased the chrysler 300 jan 2005 and within a few months vehicle started pulling to the right. we took the car in 3 times within the first 6 months of having it and they tried to fix, said they had and was not. on the final attempt, they told us to take it to an alignment shop on our own to fix, we tried. now, after 3 years driving with the same problem. we have a new problem, the speedometer gauge broke. we were told sorry, its out of warranty and we have to pay 1000.00 to fix. another dealer, said they would charge 800. ii was told that our cluster would be sent out and replaced with a refurbished one. so we did not have it fixed, we decided to purchase one on our own (from a junk yard or refurbished) and now the mileage needs to be reset. but were told that they could just reset the mileage for 100 dollars. took the car in now being told that we can not do that. so what's the difference if they put in a refurbished one or we did, it still needs to be reset. it seem to me, they still want the money to fix and that's al they care about! when it should be only 100.00 to fix now. *tr

I have a 2005 300c that i bought in april 2007, it only had 14425, miles, when i tested drove it, i notice that it was pulling to the right, i thought it was a low tire, and i was in love with the car from the time i saw it. as weeks went by and after placing air in all tires, the car continued to pull to the right. so i called the dealership and stated my problem, they asked me to come in. i told them the problem that i was having and they recommend a wheel alignment that i paid for. i drove it home and noticed that it was doing the same thing, pulling to the right, i called them and made another appointment, this time the said it was the tires, so i replaced the tires and put the goodyear assurance on it, and again paid for that. i took off again for home, and noticed the same problem. i turned the car around and went back to the dealer, and told them it was not fixed. they said to me that chrysler knows about the problem, after i have spent the money myself trying to repair a problem when i still have bumper to bumper cover, that when chrysler come out with a fix i would be notified. this is wrong, and chrysler should repair the problem, and give us back our money that we have spent in trying to repair something that they know about. *jb updated 11/26/07

I drive a chrysler 300c, when i purchased the car i felt the car veering to the right. well i had taken the car in to the dealer and i was told that i needed a wheel alignment and i also needed to have my wheel rotated. well i did that and still i had the same problem. so i took the car back and was told that i needed another wheel alignment and my wheels needed to be rotated i did all of that and i still have the same problem. i also have a problem with my horn not blowing when the car is not running. i find all of the above complaints to hazardous and dangerous to myself, family and friends. i am told by the dealer that there is no problem. i have tried calling the service manager for the last two days and have yet a receive a response. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated while driving at 50 mph the accelerator pedal became stuck in the depressed position which resulted in an accident with another vehicle. there was severe damage to the chassis of both vehicles. however, the air bags of the contact's vehicle did not deploy. it was taken to a service dealer but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem with the accelerator pedal. also, the vehicle continuously pulled to the right and required excessive force to keep the vehicle moving straight. the vehicle was taken to service dealer where the tires were rotated. shortly after the tire rotation, the tread became completely worn. the mechanic determined the suspension was the cause of the problem.

Dt*: the contact stated there has been a problem with the front alignment since the vehicle was purchased which caused the vehicle to pull to the right. the vehicle was taken to the dealer ,where a front alignment was performed. the dealer offered to change some non specific bolts and the shim in an effort to correct the problem with the front suspension, but could not guarantee this would resolve the problem. the vehicle was taken to an alignment specialist shop, where it was aligned to meet factory specifications. however, a test drive by the repair shop personnel confirmed the contact's initial complaint of a right lead. after the test drive the repair shop personnel alerted the contact of a technical service bulletin nhtsa 10013692 regarding a revision of the alignment specifications for the right lead problem. *ak

This vehicle (as i understand, this and may others) is experiencing a pull to right. it has been in the shop numerous times and has had the tsb (camb. bolt) performed 2 times. purchased this car in august and have had this problem right from the begining...now we are at the end of april and it is not fixed. we have had all tires replaced for wear (and have been told that this has nothing to do with alignment) this vehicle's production date is very early. apparently chrysler has since fixed the problem on newer 300's being produced....but can seem to fix the older ones. at this point i am questioning whether this can be repaired.*ak

I noticed that when i drive my car it pulls to the right. i took it to the dealer to have it fixed and the serviceman said that the problem was fixed it just needed an alignment. i left the dealership and drove down the hwy and it began to pull to the right again. i went back to the repair shop and they said to me that the alignment machine said that it was aligned just perfect. so i took the repairman on a test drive and again it pull to the right. so back to the repair shop we went and they replace a bolt or something to that effect(tsb) and it still pulls to the right. i notice a lot of the 05 models have that problem, but it seems as though chrysler has fixed the problem on the 06 and newer models. when you hit divot in the rd. the front end shakes and basically the front tires actually leave the rd. for a brief second. the problem has not been corrected yet and all that the serviceman tells me is that is the way the car was design.(which i doubt seriously) if that was the case then i and a lot of other owners of the chrysler 300 wouldn't have purchase the vehicle.

08/31/200740300503/08/2005
I am the owner of a 2005 chrysler 300 which suffers from electrical system failure under power, leaving me with no control over the vehicle. it has been into the shop five separate times for this problem, and has not as yet been repaired. however, this is not the main complaint i am contacting you regarding, even though it is in itself extremely hazardous. in this instance, when it was brought into the dealership for electrical failure, the repair technician was pulling it into the shop to look at it, and the left front control arm on the vehicle snapped in two. upon observation, it was found that the right front control arm was severely bent and ready to snap. the replacement control arms are twice the thickness, and twice as heavy, as the original. this is proof beyond a reasonable doubt that chrysler not only knew that the original control arms were defective and/or ineffective, but that chrysler corrected the problem without the issuance of a recall for the said defective/ineffective part. breaking control arms on the vehicle constitute a known vehicular hazard that can cause injury, death, and property damage. i hereby request that the nhtsa consider this a formal complaint and request for immediate safety recall for the 2005 chrysler and any other of the chrysler vehicle(s) which may use the same control arms, part number 4782561ae, in the interest of safety. this defect endangers not only the driver and passengers of the vehicle itself, but also other drivers who may be in the way when the control arms snap. when i contacted chrysler about the problem i was told that it was just ?too bad? and that i could not prove i had not done something which caused the problem. even though i advised them i knew that they had replaced their inventory with bigger, stronger control arms. utilizing the ?reasonable person? legal tenant, any reasonable person would understand that chrysler is trying to deny responsibility for their defective vehicle. *jb

My chrysler 300 has less than 3000 miles on it and i have been at the dealer three times for a front alignment problem, car pulls to the right. during first visit i was told alignment checks ok, they all pull to the right. during second visit dealer installed chrysler bulletin (off set bolts) to correct left lead problem. alignment improved but still pulls to right. during third visit dealer told me everthing checks ok nothing else can be done and the car pulls right or left because of the crown in the road (which is bull). i believe this to be a hazardous condition because constance pressure must be kept on the left side of the steering wheel to keep the car from drifting into the right freeway lanes. chrysler should be directed to replace improperly manufactured/defective front end components. *ak

Purchased used 300 touring chrysler on april 2005 with about 25000 miles already we notice ever since we purchased our vehicle it has made a loud bang noise everytime we go on reverse and it seems it lags before getting in gear and lately it was starting to make that bang noise going forward mostly when accelerating fast, we were thinking of taking it in but have been putting it off due to our work schedules, well this 23rd of december 2005 while going to a friends b-day party the whole back axle broke off we were in a red light as it turn green i accelerated and we felt the car drop completely on the rear at first i thought i blew out the tires or something but as we pulled to the side we notice the tires were way inside the fenders. when i met the tow truck driver the next day in the morning we both notice the axles completely broken off from the chassis at that point i thanked god that it did not happened on the freeway when i had my children with me, on the way to the babysitter. *jb
