Tl- the contact owns a 1999 chrysler 300m. the contact stated the vehicle will stall at anytime without warning. the contact had the battery and battery cables replaced along with the cam shaft and cam shaft sensor, but none of this has fixed the failure. the contact also had the vehicle diagnosed an additional four times without being told what is causing the failure. the contact says the failure has caused the vehicle to set for the better part of a year. the failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage was 103,000.rl

1999 chrysler 300m - have had the car since 2002. about a year ago we noticed it would stall during operation then immediately restart. now it has gotten worse. it just stops while at highway speeds, during city driving or even at a light. usually re-starts right away but lately it takes about 10 minutes before re-start is possible. took to dodge dealer and they cannot find the problem. i won't allow my wife to drive the car as it is too dangerous. any feedback on what the problem is would be greatly appreciated. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 1999 chrysler 300m. during an oil change, the mechanic noticed that the tread for the drain plug was wearing thin and the oil pan and plug needed to be replaced. chrysler is aware of the failure and stated that it only occurs with the 300m and concorde vehicles. the tool that mechanics use to perform the oil changes is the cause of the failure because it damages the tread. chrysler stated that she would have to pay $575 plus tax for the replacement. the contact informed them to tape the pan and plug instead. she filed a complaint with the manufacturer. the current and failure mileages were 94,815. updated 12/12/2007 *bf updated 12/12/07 *tr

The evaporator coil needs to be replaced. 1 month after i purchased this vehicle used, i returned it to the dealership because i was having problems with the a/c making a whistling noise and not cooling properly.it was still under warranty at this point and they found nothing wrong. i took it back 2 more times since then and finally on the 3rd try they diagnosed it as a evaporator coil.i am trying to get the dealership/chrysler to pay, we'll know tommarrow.

There were problems with electric windows and a crack in the dash. the electric windows had stuck shut due to the tight seal designed to reduce the wind noise, and the crack in the dash was around the passenger side air bag and appeared where the material was stretched over the air bag underneath. also, when the vehicle was two months old, the front wheel rotors had to be replaced, the battery was replaced in the first year, before 50k a defective bearing on the cooling fan was required to be replaced. *mr *scc *nlm

In 7/03 car died on highway at 75 mph with no warning finally managed to get it going again and left at dealer. dealer said it need tune up. we replaced plugs, egr, and cleaned map sensor. in 9/03 same thing happened on highway, this time dealer said to replace map sensor. we did. 1 week later same thing on highway again. managed to restart and drive to dealer. this time it was powertrain control module. dealer replaced. on way home from dealer car ran rough and died. dealer said it was throttle position sensor. we replaced. 11/03 car died this time on a side road (thank god) would not restart. had towed home and then towed to dealer. dealer said it was intake valves on both sides and replaced. 2 days after picking up car it died again on a side road. dealer currently has car and cannot figure out what is wrong with it. there is no warning when car is going to die out i am lucky not to be dead as each time it died on highway i was going 75 mph and in passing lane. i noticed 7 or 8 like complaints on your website. only one got resolved. i am hoping to be number 2. *la

I have replaced 7 goodyear tires on my 1999 300m as well as one chrome rim (several serious blowouts). the driver & passenger window motors required replacement. have mysterious 2 inch dashboard crack near passenger side airbag. replaced sensors (crank case?). chafing wires cause unexpected stalls & failures. local dealer trying to diagnose current problem-car stalls after shift into drive. afraid to keep a car with only 42,000 miles. love the look & room of the car but may be too dangerous to risk stalling on a highway at 65mph or missing an interview. *ak

The first incident happened 3 days after purchasing our 1999 chrysler 300m, while driving the engine just stopped running, that meant that everything stopped working the steering, gas, etc. and then i found that if i don't warm the car up for about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes it will stop and while warming the car up it will stop at least 3 times in the process. my friend also has a 1999 chrysler 300m and hers recently started doing the same thing. i think this a very dangerous thing that happens while driving. it could possibly cause a serious accident. it has to be something wrong with these particular cars and chrysler should do something about it. *jb

This vehicle has had a history of engine problems,, and had to have the transmission replaced. the first engine failure was covered under warranty. the second engine failure was out of warranty, and chrysler has refused to assist with this cost of $4750.00. i do not know enough about engines to understand if the first failure could have contributed to the second or if engine head was warped again and was using oil, or if perhaps the oil pump was not functioning at the time of failure. sludge was found in the oil pan, but my oil was replaced at intervals of 4000 - 6000 miles for the life of the vehicle. incident occurred out of town, so i was forced to deal with an unformiliar dealer. although the engine block was requested to be retained for further diagnostics, the dealer sent it back to mopar. one week after the engine was repaired transmission blew. chrysler did pay for this. chrysler financial holds the lease and it is now up. i would like to discuss my engine issues with an expert and understand if i have any opportunity to reopen this issue with chrysler.*ak
