VISIBILITY - POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS

Around 42000 the right rear passenger automatic door lock started making a loud buzzing noise and refused to unlock automatically. now you must automatically unlock the door then manually release the lock. now at 62000 the left rear passenger lock is making a loud buzzing noise but still will unlock. this could be very dangerous in a crash because you cannot unlock the right passenger door with out knowing to release the locks automatically and then manually unlocking the doors. a family member who also owns a chrysler product of the same year has had issues with the doorlocks and took it to the dealer (his was still under warranty) and was told that several models of that year have defected locks. they replaced all his locks after the second lock went out.

This complaint has to do with what i believe is a defect on all chrysler 300m 1999 thru 2004. my complaint is the defect in the window design that lets the window glass come in contact with just rubber. there is noting between the glass and the rubber. this is what happened to my car twice, and not the same window. my complaint is the glass sticks to the rubber and gets pulled out of its track. all i did was put the window down and it pulled out of the track. the first time that happened the cost to repair was $130. now it has happened again. i am doing nothing wrong just putting the window down. felt should be between the window glass and the rubber. chrysler should pick up the tab on that repair. please help? others are complaining of this same problem in web groups on the internet.*ak

Windows stick to weather striping/molding causing motors to stop working. continuous problem. can't afford to fix rear windows, so they no longer open. motors are burning out because of defective weather striping material. normally happens during warmer time of year. dealer says that it's normal for all 3 or 4 to stop working at same time - pay the $800 to get it fixed - again. hazard - passengers in back seat cannot get window to roll down in an emergency - same in front seat when they stick. chrysler acknowledges problem in service bulletins. their 'expert advice' to service departments: use a credit card to unstick windows. use silicon spray to keep windows from sticking. we did that. they still stick because rubber material gets very soft in hot weather and then adheres to the window, causing it to seal tight and not roll down. only one touch on controller and the motor stops working. no advance notice. chrysler will fix the motor for $200 each, but will do nothing to replace the rubber window striping that is causing the problem. *ak

VISIBILITY - REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES - EXTERIOR
03/15/200315000412/18/1999
I was unaware until recently that my car had side mirrors that were to automatically swing down when car is placed in reverse. whether they always did or it was not noticed because i didn't look into them while backing. about 5 months ago i occasionally noticed my side mirrors being misaimed. it was most disconcerting, to say the least to see the road surface when i looked in the side mirror. apparently from time to time the mirrors swung down when i had put the car into reverse, as they should. unfortunately, they did not swing back up when i put the car into forward. clearly, this creates an unsafe condition. *nlm
VISIBILITY - WINDSHIELD
06/01/200325000210/01/2000
There have been repeated stress cracks in the windshield. i have on two occassion experienced the same crack. it starts under the seal on the drivers side about 4 off of the bottom, travells out about two inches, turns towards the top and travells to the sun visor area. it has not been caused by a strike to the window and each crack is almost identical in size and location. it looks like an l if viewed from the exterior. i suspect that the body lacks rigidity and is thus stressing the glass as it flexs. if the crack were to connect to the top portion of the window, the windshield could fail. the car is a 2000 chrysler 300m.*ak

My real concern is that i may have purchased a test car without knowledge of such. on the top of the windshield reads, chrysler proving grounds visible only when the windshield is wet. is this something that should be investigated further?*ak

There is a reflection coming from dashboard that blinds driver on sunny days. dealer says it's the design of the windshield being at an angle. *ak *slc

The safety problem is with the design of the car. with the windshield having such a high angle of slant, during mid-day sunny days, the upper dash reflects so badly in the windshield that safe operation of the vehicle is greatly impaired. even though the dash is in a matte finish, there is still considerable reflection. in my opinion, enough reflection to raise serious safety concerns. *ak
