 Letter from senator nelson on behalf of constituent, with concerns about which federal agency is responsible for ensuring that vehicle manufacturers keep accurate records of vehicle owners for the purpose of notifying them about safety reca *tgw the consumer stated he owns approximately ten chrysler vehicles, including four chrysler sebrings for which an active recall exists and he was never notified about the recall. when he called the chrysler dealer regarding a defect in a car which his company purchased used, the dealer indicated that his company was not listed as the owner in chrysler's corp. system. the consumer stated chrysler has been unresponsive so far as to how they update their records. the only answer that was given by chrysler cust. service rep was that used car dealers were supposed to notify chrysler directly when an individual or company purchased a chrysler product. *jb
