Front disc brakes began making noise, mechanic checked and found the rotor surface was delaminating and informed me that this happens on all chrysler cirrus's they have worked on this year. this may answer some of the other complaints listed in this section. also, the 15 wheels mounted on the lxi model cirrus's, take 14 brakes. the suspension on the lxi is only designed for the 14 wheels, due to this effort on chrysler's part to save money, the lxi owners are driving vehicles with incorrect suspension and wheels. this is on all chrysler cirrus vehicles, that is why there are steering, suspension and brake problems.*ak

I reported this incident to nhtsa earlier. odi id = 862355, never received a follow up questionaire. the damage estimate was to the cirrus only. no idea of damage to the other vehicles. brakes were checked by crown collision after repairs were made and no problem found. stopping distance still seems longer than i have and still experience in my old non abs braking system car. strongly feel accident would not have occurred if brakes were not abs.*ak

Complaint received via e-mail. we own a 2000 chrysler cirrus lx and a 2003 chrysler van, so the cirris is only driven about 4000 miles a year. i have been having an ongoing problem with the brakes, which i have complaint about each time it's serviced. the dealership tells me it's just dust in them. the vehicle was in for inspection, and they said the brakes had disintegrated, the rotors needed replacement and the back cylinders were leaking. the brake pads'; return true; onmouseout=window.status=''; return true;>brake pads'; return true; onmouseout=window.status=''; return true;>brake pads are hardly worn in the center, but are disintegrating in the ends. them manufacture indicated that the brake pads disintegrated from non-use. i spoke to other chrysler van owners and they are having the same problem. *ak after checking the vehicle the mechanic found the cylinders leaking so they were replaced. *tc

During a required inspection of my wifes 2002 chrysler cirris vin#1c3ej46xyn297907 the brake linings were disengrating(both ends of the front brakes) back brake seals leaking.the vehicle was bought june of 2000 she averages 4,000 per year 17,000 miles on the car. it is kept in aheated garage and has been serviced at the dealer where she bought it for reg. maint. and inspection.(we have complained about the brakes squealing from the ist year and have been told that it is just the open brakes now days and it is just road dirt. all along it was the brake pads disingrating. it cost $500.00 to replace . since we had complaind each time i feel it was the dealer not wanting to change them when they were under warranty. i called chrysler consumer line and was told what did i expect' the brakes disinigrated from non-use since the vehicle is driven only 4,000 per year. unfortunately i do not have the expertise to fight them and my atorney said chrysler would tie everything up so long it would cost too much to sue. so there again the guy with the money wins fair or not. i feel like a fool as i have talke others into buying chrysler products and am sure now they will get the same treatment.if somethng is wrong with ther vehicles. thank you del landfried ps i have the parts. *ak
