 Dt*: the contact stated the brake pedal must be stood upon for the vehicle to stop. according to the dealership, the abs was replaced prior to the contact's purchase. the vehicle has not been seen by a mechanic for this problem.

 This is the fourth time this has happened to this car. it is a 1991 chyrsler new yorker. the rear brakes have one flat pin that comes out of the wheel cylinder. this small flat pin pushes on a thin flat part of the rear brake shoe. because the pin in flat and does not have the fork design like the older models, the pin slips off the brake shoe and over extends. this causes loss of the brake fluid and the loss of the rear brakes. i also now have pictures of what actually occurs. *jb

 The brake system warning light was illuminated constantly and a substantial amount of brake pedal force was required to stop vehicle. two years after repairs were made chrysler issued a recall to correct problem.
