Defect SummaryThe right steering tie rod can rub through the automatic transmission wiring harness causing a short circuit which results in electrical system malfunctions including engine stalling and an inoperative park/starter interlock system.
Consequence SummaryElectrical system malfunction causing stalling while in motion or an inoperative park/starter interlock system, which allows engine start while the transmission is not in the park position, may result in an accident.
Corrective SummaryInstall a revised wiring harness bracket and a plastic convoluted sleeve to protect the transmission wiring harness.

 My car 1994 chrysler new yorker was taken in for recall work o ring leakage on fuel injectors when i picked my car up. they had to jump the battery, one day later the electrical system shorted out and i have not been able to drive my car since dealership said it was not their problem i believe it happened since i drove this car daily before they jumped the battery that day. *tr

 The right steering tie rod can rubbed though the automatic transmission wiring harness, causing a short circuit. vehicle not included in recall 94v024000. when car is left in park and later turned back on, it starts in reverse. the cause of this problem was not found, but the steering column ignition assembly was replaced. *ak *ml
