The right side frame member, where the lower control arm attaches broke away causing the tire and strut assembly to go into the fender, and pulled the cv joint apart at the transmission rendering the car undrivable, and unmovable. i was backing out of a parking space with the wheel turned to the left in the rain when i heard a loud bang and the car came to a stop, while banging continued. then i turned the car off, and took a look, and saw that the right front tire into the fender and the bottom sticking way out. it could not be towed on a standard wheel kift tow truck. | |||

I' have had 4 transmission in this vehicle. in each case the trasmission has had a torque converteer failure leaving the vehicle whti two gears, first and reverse. the last failure happened in the interstate at highway speeds. the transmission failed and the vehicle would not go over 30 mph. i have heard that this type of incident has happened to thousands of chrysler owners with 1993-1999 vehicles equiped with this transmission. | |||

While traveling at 40 mph, the car reduced in speed, unable to acclerate, car would not move. owner had car towed to dealer. dealer did not advise owner of recall for transmission transaxle. dealer states owner needs to repair transmission for $3000 before completing recall repair. owner contacted daimler chrysler twice with a complaint regarding dealer refusing to complete recall repair. daimler chrysler has yet to respond to complaint. dealer indicated owner must have car towed or a storage fee of $15 per day will be inacted. dealer reported employees of dealership will be able to purchase car for $100 if owner does not pickup car. owner is requesting that recall be repaired without any charge. *ak | |||

While on interstate consumer started to slow down for the exit, car automatically downshifted on its own, and it went from 50 to 10mph in a very short distance. consumer feels this is a unsafe condition. took to chrysler and they said it sounds like something in the valve body. *ak | |||

Transmission- needs to be rebuilt or replaced with new torque converter estimated cost of this by dealer/service person is $1713.91 with vehicle being only 5 yrs old and 83,000 miles. headlights- are impossible to use driving at night because you are unable to see, more or less able to tell if they are on. high beams are at the level of low beams. steering linkage- has a thunking when accelerates from a stop sign at times and also at times when slowing down your speed under 30mph. hood supports- had to be replaced at time of purchase and after 2 years needs to be replaced again. steering- makes a whining sound at times when turning a corner. back door/driver's side- sticks at times especially after driving at 55mph, hard to open. oxygen sensor replacement 152.91throttle body injectors 139.98 for one & 84.99 for other. trans. cooler lines 133.88 tie rod ends w/alignment 197.00 water pump 409.74 timing belt tensioner 144.44 all these estimates come from a chrysler dealer/service person. | |||

Daimler/chrysler was contacted to inform them of these persistent probelms, not only with new yorker, but concorde,lhs and intriped. the refuse to address the probelm and even the dealership service office is giving advice to call and complain. i see your web site is filled with the same chrysler cars with the same chrysler probelms. please help us to get the service and attention to this matter and have chrysler repair there defects as they expect us to pay our payments. thank you for your time and speedy action in this matter. | |||

Vehicle stalled right after starting up. transmission shop determined a seal inside transmission was leaking. please add further details.*ak | |||
While traveling 55mph; steering was hard to control/ difficult to turn and very stiff. rack & pinion was cause of problem. also, vehicle not shifting into park. transmission line leaked fluid. coupling was causing a leak between rubber tubing which was inserted into metal tubing. in addition, fuel rail would also leak/ abs brakes started to lock up when applied/ water pump was leaking water, and door strap needed to be replaced due to being opened & closing hard. taking vehicle to dealer to correct major problems. *ak | |||

When pulling off and coming to a stop there is some noise coming from the front of vehicle. when consumer is at a stop the fan gets very loud. also, consumer noticed when parking and turning the wheel, there is a popping sound coming from under the vehicle which might be the axle under the vehicle, keyless remote control doesn't work either. *ak | |||
