Took car to dealer for routine maintenance. dealer said that the car is unsafe to drive and that the engine subframe was corroded. after an internet search found that this is a known and common problem and that apparently the part was recalled in canada. when i spoke with chrysler, they said that they would not provide any support, and that had i reported the problem when it started they would have repaired it under warranty. i have had the car regularly serviced at the dealer. as a consumer i have no way of knowing if the engine subframe is corroded. however, a dealer who is maintaining the car should have been able to do so. in any event, the car is unsafe to drive, i am expected to pay a significant sum, and this problem is pervasive. the dealer told me a similar car came this past week with an identical problem.

I took the car to my mechanic for front end noise. it was determined the front suspension frame was rusted and the car was unsafe to drive. contacted chrysler and was told to take to dealer. took car to doan dodge in greece ny. after several calls chrysler has refused to repair. the cost of the repair is $1600 and it is a known problem. i am told they are quietly repairing some complaints. this car was over $34,000 new and should not be having this problem!!

Noticed a lot of rust on frame at front of vehicle. body shop confirmed that the engine cradle was badly rusted and has to be replaced. car is past the extended warranty of 7/75,000. this is way too much damage for a car with 67,000 miles.

My car repair shop noticed the subframe on my 2004 pacifica as rusted through enough that the shop's owner could get a finger through the rust hole. he said the pacifica would be adequate for the vacation i am about to take, but also said this issue should be handled within the next year or the suspension system would fail. he also added i should file this complaint as a potential recall action, as it was not on the current list. for the record, northern virginia (near washington dc) does get snow and ice, and does treat its roads when that happens. btw, i tried to file this complaint last night, but your system was doing maintenance when i tried to send it to you. i don't think this went through last night, but....

07/05/07 customer reported blower motor noisy, chrysler checked and found blower motor noisy and replaced the blower motor. cost to customer $179.00. on 08/11/10 blower motor noisy on high speeds, chrysler removed and replaced the blower motor. cost to customer $256.00. on 07/05/12 customer experiencing same problem with noisy blower motor. will need to take vehicle to dealer to have blower motor replaced again.

This vehicle has suffered through a wide variety of problems as outlined from online complaint boards.today has started sudden accelation while stopped at traffic lights almost taking me into traffic your investigation on these are closed but i never had satisfaction speaking to chrysler officails and was informed by my dealer a couple of years ago that the vehicle was made by the ;old; company and the new company does not honor problems.what is disturbing is that a close inspection by me has revealed that the wiring harness going to the control computer was routed under the drivers side flexible motor mount and the harness has been damaged by the mount compressing this harness right on top of a bolt on the frame causing fraying of several control wires .the poor design has indeed created most of the problems with the vehicle and could cause wrecks and perhaps even deaths.chrysler has informed me they do not accept suggestions from the public but for the safety of the citizens still driving these vehicles,i see a lot on the road, please contact them as to this problem which while not covered under their warranty should be as this flaw only shows up with milage.the wiring harness has not been priced by me yet but if past experience is the guide chrysler parts are significantly higher than competitors, even if the last 'genuine' part had product of south korea right on the box.the problem is poor design

While driving car it knocks after pushing brakes then gas again it continues to do so after i have had over 2000 in repairs done. it has new shocks new axles new motor mounts & tires i believe several other owners have had the same issues and a recall should be in place or an explanation of why our cars are doing this! i bought the car used and was told the owner sold it because they did not want to put the money into it to have the motor mounts replaced so i am thinking that she might have had the same issue. it also shakes after i get past 50 mph. it has also died after turning a sharp left and i almost crashed with my infant in the car. it has locked me out of the car with my daughter still in the car! also the rear ac is not working any longer and i had it looked at and no one can tell me why. i would have traded it in but i am not able to start all over with payments again on a new car. thank you and any information in regards to the problems i have been having with our car would be awesome. i have never received any recall information on this car and if any are in effect and could fix these issues please let me know.

Not sure if caused by accident or failure of material. front basket under left front is splitting. accident involved left front, almost a complete rebuild on that corner. was doing an under body inspection while getting an oil change. a split in the frame was noted.

The front subframe on my car has rusted pretty bad, i only lived in nj for a little over a year. i got the car used when it had 40 thousand miles on it in georgia. it went through all the checks and somehow in another 40 thousand it gets holes in the front subframe! i read that this has happened a lot with this car and it seems that a lot of owner got it replaced even after 5 year warranty!

After owning my 2004 chrysler pacifia for 7 years, i was told by the dealer, during a routine oilchange, that the subframe is rusted out and wouldnt last much longer. there are two rust holes in the frame structure on the left side and more forming on the right side on the height of the wheels. replacing the subframe (which holds the motor in place) would cost about +$4000!! i have always taking excellent care of this car. it is in great shape inside and out - except the frame. after doing some research online i have found that i am not alone. there is a mulitude of 2004 chrysler owners having the exact same problem as i do. this issue needs to be resolved by chrysler. a subframe is supose to last longer then 7 years!

2004 chrysler pacifica taken to mechanic after purchasing used with 69,500 miles for clunking noise in front-end. replaced parts included: sway bar linkages, tie rod ends, and struts and mounts all of which needed replacing. but the noise was still there. the mechanic then used a tool he called chassis ears to pinpoint the source of the noise. he found that the subframe (engine cradle) was rusted at the point that it mounts to the body, just under the front passenger-side floorboard. upon further inspection rust was apparent on the drivers-side also. this is a major safety issue!!! the entire front-end of the vehicle including: engine, transmission, and all front-end suspension and steering is held in place by this subframe (engine cradle). what happens when this totally fails while driving with six people in the vehicle? why has this not become a mandatory safety recall? does someone have to get killed before this gets someones attention? this is not an isolated incident as can be seen by this website. nhtsa please help!!!

85,000 miles on a well maintained vehicle. noticed noise in chassis especially turning and over bumps. rear crossmember (part of engine cradle) rusted through on both sides and nearly broken free from left and right frame rails. contacted chrysler only to learn that select 2002 and 2003 pacifica models in high corrosion areas have extended warranty (up to 150,000 miles) for this exact issue. unfortunately chrysler will not cover 2004 models!!! very expensive to repair! sad that chrysler will not stand behind their vehicles.... especially since they obviously know it's an issue!

Vehicle was taken in to dealer due to excessive noise when brakes are applied hard for sudden stops. were told that the subframe in the front of the car is rusted out and will cost about $3,000 to repair. car is garage-kept and washed regularly, and only has 75,000 miles.

Car now has 140000 miles. i am on the 3rd full set of engine mounts and now 3 of them are broken again and need replacement. this could easily have turned into a safety issue. this is obviously a defect that chrysler knows about. why has there been no recall?

I took my 2004 pacifica in for an alignment and when they got it up saw that my engine cradle had rusted badly and was falling apart. i have searched the internet to see if there has been a recall and have not found one but have found many other complaints of the same thing happening. i got an estimate today and he said the new engine cradle will cost me $3600 plus around $500 for labor. this is horrible. this is the nicest car i have ever owned. it was never wrecked and i dont know how in the world this could even happen. it has to be a defect that chrysler should be taken care of because there are so many having the same problem.

2004 pacifica. the uni-body frame is cracked and rusted to the point where it wouldn't pass inspection.the struts and strut mounts, the inner and outer u-joints all need replacing. the paint all over the vehicle is rusting through. vehicle is kept in garage. i have a 1998 caravan that is in better shape.there is definetly a problem with the manufacturing of this vehicle. there are too many complaints for it not to be taken seriously.i own multiple chrsyler vehicles and would appreciate some consideration towards this problem. thank you, dan

I was driving my 2004 chrysler pacifica when the the acceleration started to taper off gradually. eventually it went down to 25mph when i pulled off the road. as i turned off the engine smoke started flowing out of the vents in the car. within a couple of minutes fire was shooting out of the passenger's foot well from the engine. the police was on the scene immediately and was unable to put it out two firetrucks and 4 police cars arrived at the scene. they stated they had never seen a car go up so fast. there was nothing but the shell left.

Chrysler pacifica motor mounts go bad. fluid filled motor mounts bust and cause engine to shift and create vibrating when accelerating and braking. engine moves when braking, accelerating and releasing gas pedal. motor mounts have been replaced in last 10 months and are now busted again after less than one year. motor mounts are on backorder due to so many having to be replaced on numerous vehicles. all 2004 to 2008 pacificas have fluid filled motor mounts that break and cause other engine problems anywhere from 10000 miles to 40k miles.

I have recently made a complaint to chrysler about a 2004 pacifica that i bought about 4mos ago. i know that my car may be out of dealer warranties, but when there are things going on with your vehicle that's under recall, something should be done about before someone is injured or even killed. my gas pedal sticks, my car has stalled off on several occassions while turning in the middle of an intersection, and my fuel system was not holding or distrubuting fuel properly and my motor mounts are broken! i can't afford to pay for my car monthly, and pay for repairs that are almost going on with all 2004 pacificas'. i park my car only to use one vehicle that 2 adults and a17 and18yr have to travel with when 3 of the 4 of these persons work. life is hard and its not fair that the big companies continue to get away with it and the hard working person is falling deeper and deeper into a do it the best way you can situation. problems with the fuel system have supposedly been fixed and they are included in a recall that does'nt include my vin but my make and model and year! come on america!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
