Headlamps - the headlamps had to be replaced due to light beams not coming through the clear plastic cover. the cover became cloudy and visibility was limited which caused safety concerns. the chrysler dealership tried to clean but was not successful. tire sensors - a year ago, we had an issue with the message center not responding to the tires. the chrysler dealership installed 1 tire sensor and several months later a new message center panel had to be replaced. a year later, we are replacing the other three sensors. we are told by the chrysler dealership that the batteries only last several years. they claim that these sensors are goverment regulated. why are we putting parts into american made cars that have to be replaced every several years that cost $100 for each sensor plus labor. either chrysler needs to produce a better sensor that lasts longer or the government should provide rebates since this is regulatory. these car issues should be considered a safety issue and reviewed for potential liabilities that can cause harm to the driver.

First of all we purchased our 2004 chrysler pacificia a little over two years ago and after about 2 weeks i noticed a visibility issue. at first i thought it was simply new car adjustment issues. however, this issue on visibility never went away. the first incident occurred backing up in my bank parking lot...bam! where did that pole come from? cost $850. my deductible $500. the second occurrence happened in my driveway. again backing up. this time the coast was clear before i got into the car. next thing i heard [as i was looking back was a crunch. between $5 and $8k damage to the other vehicle. oh i wasn't going any more than 5 mph! thing is even after the accident i still didn't see the car when i looked back to see what the ?xo$@ happened! i have been a excellent driver up until the purchase of this vehicle? knowing that this has been an issue, visibility, i've remained cautious with this vehicle. oops forgot my damages were$1950. non-the-less, today i have the privilege of paying higher insurance premiums. don't get me started with on the road issues. my question is simple yet serious to consider. should we have to drive in fear of wondering if today will be yet another accident/incident before chrysler will do something about the pac.? in fact maybe it will take a needless fatality before someone will become attentive. as a consumer i have only so many resources to exhaust. after that and because of the political battle one would encounter i am left with only the option to add my complaint to this list. *jb

Visibility we have had 6 parking lot collisions since acquiring our car in 2003. the visibility when maneuvering is terrible. we have parked in the same parking lot for 24 years in a variety of cars and suv's and have never had a collision. in this car, we have had collisions resulting from poor visibility when pulling in to park, but more so when backing up. the blind spots are significant and dangerous. so far, only other cars have been damaged but our concern is for pedestrians or children that may be behind us yet remain unseen when attempting to back up. the dealer says they have had numerous complaints but there is nothing to do. they did offer to sell us a parking assist sensor system but that's all. the cust satisfaction representative at chrysler said he had not had any complaints like this. he also said he could not view any other reps info- he was just one person in a huge company. when i asked for his supervisor, he said supervisors don't take calls. this car has serious design flaws and chrysler will not correct them. we are concerned about the safety of ourselves and others. we can't wait for our lease to expire in oct 2006, until then we are very worried about using this car. i can't ever envision purchasing another chrysler product after this lack of commitment to vehicle safety. *jb

I own a 2004 chrysler pacifica. my complaint deals with the total lack of visibility when one is backing up. specifically, since the rear window is so heavily tinted you cannot see any illumination thrown out by the inadequate back-up lights. if the area around the car is poorly lit, one cannot see anything or body behind you. this is very dangerous. i have been driving for 45 years and have a very good driving record. this is the most dangerous vehicle i have ever driven!! i will not drive it in the evening anymore due to the total lack of confidence in the vehicle. instead, i drive my wife's honda cr-v. on february 7, 2005 i called chrysler customer service. the rep said that i could peel off the tinted cellophane strip from the rear window. this is ludicrous. the tint on the glass is an integral part of the pane. he was absolutely useless. on february 8, 2005 i complained to my dealer. he would not replace the rear window but would sell me a back-up sensor system for their cost of $417.00. the problem is not solved. this is a problem of safety. all i want is a way of using my car 24/7 without fear of striking somebody or an object, through no fault of my own. i do not feel it is appropriate for me to pay for this service. i am trying to save lives. please feel free to contact me, sincerely, joel f. garfield

1-my 2004 pacifica will not start at times. sometimes 2 weeks can go by without incident, then the car will not start until i hold my foot on the gas. the dealer claims that unless it happens while at their shop, they cannot do anything. 2- the drivers side mirror will change position and make a sound like gears trying to engage but cannot. again, the dealer could not find a problem although it happens each time i use it. 3- i complained about the transmission being sluggish from a parked position until it passes first gear. they told me they could not find a problem. they told me i could pick up the car. i asked them to drive it. they now found the problem and claim the motor mount was broken. they said it happened because of a fender bender i was in. the fender bender occurred two months after purchasing the car and i have been driving it two years since that event without a problem. 4- my headliner keeps sagging where the headliner meets the moonroof. they have fixed it now three times. they said the manual tells them to use sticky velcro tape. i keeps happening. *jb

When rear windows are rolled down, with front windows rolled up, there is an air pressure harmonic generated that shakes the interior of the car that is very painful (ears). the effect is that it sounds like a helicopter is in the car with you. this harmonic is also generated slightly by the sunroof being opened and the windows rolled up. the sunroof harmonic will cease if you place a hand or arm in the air stream. these issues are not dependent on the interior layout of the vehicle (seats up or down, or seat position). *la

The windshield wipers and electrical systems failed during a mild rain. we got the vehicle to a chrysler dealer and contracted for them to put it on the lift. we've learned that the main wiring harnesses on many 2004 pacificas - such as ours - have collected water for years due to their design on the 2004 pacifica, and have completely corroded. this substantially compromised our safety, as we exited the road having lost windshield wipers, all electrical, etc., we attempted to use the horn which also was no longer working. *tr
